• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

this is the ebay guy I bought stuff from (springs & metal straps)

It looks like a pretty sorry state of affairs, the guy won't post a part number but puts this in his listing.
"1 set(4pcs.) handlebar mount vibration isolators for husqvarna... should fit 77cr - 85wr models,.....NOTE: it is your responsibility to know what fits your bike , be sure before bidding. these are new parts, flat rate priority shipping with delivery confirmation in the U.S., international shipping costs depend on buyers location"

I would think the most sensible thing to do is buy from Halls or a place with genuine parts and parts numbers as long as that is possible. Besides a lot of these other outlets seem to cost more. I bought these handlebar rubber mounts for three dollars and change from the official sources, maybe they are NLA now but I see them at four for 24 and this seems kind of the norm. Those top out washers for most of the 40mm forks were like $2 for years and another dollar after that but could be bought on ebay for much more.

I see a couple of links posted but no vouching for the quality being equal to origional. Of course if you also have a newer model the idea of all under one roof might mean something different than if you don't.

Very good advice. I'm glad to see reproductions being made, but I've come across several "reproduction" parts where the originals were still available and were cheaper.

What a jerk-wad, sorry man I bought springs & metal straps from him and he did list part numbers for them..

I can tell ya this guy is pretty up-tight. I just recently wanted more Stainless springs for my Bultaco. Well I had a few Crown Royals on the rocks and placed the order which I screwed up. I told him lets start over and he subsequenly replied back basically telling me if I was having trouble to get someone who knew how to order...

I could have gotten really nasty and given him the Steve Martin ..exccccccuuuuuse meeeee. But chose to correct him on another matter (the available quantity he had listed). Its terrible when people are total @$$e$..

again sorry
