Husqvarna
Pro Class
Just ordered the 36 for the 300, will be race-tested (HS) on Feb 3rd.
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Just got my pwk figured out... And now a no jet carb comes out...I have had 7 rides on the Lectron 38mm for the 165. Carb works awesome with this application. Traded off back to back with a 165 running a 36mm Lectron and couldn't really tell any difference. Yesterday we did 30 miles of free riding through rocks, gullies, and hills. Probably averaged 10mph and it took 1.078 gallons to go 30.3 miles. That is phenomenal compared to the 20 mpg I am used to getting in those kind of conditions. Other than getting some cactus stuck to my butt it was a blast.
I know it's tuff, but you'll make it.Still waiting for mine to arrive.

They also like to wet bench setup each one.
Do they graph or print out the flow bench/dyno results? It would be nice to have a baseline characterization supplied with the carb you are purchasing. Do they do an air/fuel ratio vs. rpm sweep?
Ordererd up a new airbox boot just in case I ruined mine when I cut it lol,
So today I remove the subframe and cut the part off the the clip sits in on the airboot so its shortened around 10mm
I then removed my lectron from the scrap pile and tested it all for fit and every thing is spot on and plenty of clearence against the shock unlike the first install.
I then got bored and thought what the hell lets try this thing again so set about measuring the correct place to drill and tap for a idle screw and quickly turned up a item to use, sorted out a spring and put it all back together and installed it on the bike, fliped the choke and got ready for another 20 minutes of kicking !!!
Well it was not to be as the thing this time started on the second kick WOOOHOOO, fliped choke off and it died PAHHH, choke back on and started first kick but went real lean as soon as I took the choke off. Right ! pull slide and richen 3 turns, try to refit slide and no chance PAHHH, pull carb and wiggle the metering rod into its hole, refit and kick once and it all good to go ! lovely smooth even tickover and takes throttle no probs at all so decide to road test it.
Grab a helmet and gloves and off I go, HOLLY $HIT where did all that power come from ????? this thing runs like a rapped ape !
Did a fair bit more fiddleing and ended up with a 55 jet in the power jet (no remote screw on this one) and did try going a turn leaner but it all became a bit lean and ring ding dingy and the revs took a little time to settle back down ( to lean ) so ended back where I started and was very happy with the end results.
Other than being a right royal pain in the butt to relocate the metering rod that needs the carb to be pulled every time on this old model Lectron I am glad I bit the bullet and gave it a second chance. Just as I was packing up for the day a friend that owns a wr 125 dropped in and took it for a quick rip !!! to say he was impressed would be a understatement as he rode it only yesterday while it was PWK equiped and could not stop blabering about how it just pulled and pulled and plulled and was so strong everywhere from tickover to flat out.
So now thats all sorted I cannot wait to get delivery of the new 38mm unit I ordered from Kelly because if it gets any better than this I will be a very very happy old man, Looks like I may have to start a little get fitter programe as thing is going to so much quicker to ride than the 144 lol and my mate has already scratched his name on the old unit to fit to his bike.
Well everything all before me have said about the greatness of the Lectron are not in any way blowing smoke ! these things are the DUCKS NUTS and with the later type slide / metering rod and adjustable power jet should be fitted as standard to every bike produced, I really am that impressed
And in closeing -- Hurry up Mr postman with my shiny new Lectron ( any news on when Kelly ?? )
Opps not sure how that happened **************************************** should be back to normal nowGreat to hear you got the old type to work so wellI can tell you are really totally excited and you may not have noticed, but you are repeating yourself!
ha ha
What about Lectron for Husky 4 strokes 450/510?
I think that Husqvarna must have gotten a smokin' deal on a boxcar load of Mikuni 38s that they have been trying to use up, or else they would at least be running the Keihins on their bikes.I'm intrigued, but I'm old school in that I wonder "if they were so good, why does nobody put them on bike,
Some-body is going to get a smokin' deal on my Mikuni! The lectron is in a different leagueI think that Husqvarna must have gotten a smokin' deal on a boxcar load of Mikuni 38s that they have been trying to use up, or else they would at least be running the Keihins on their bikes.![]()
