• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Round 8 was just south of Salt Lake City Utha 100 miles of single track in the trees .
Nic Burson team Husky finished 6 th overall on the New Husky 511 soon he will have that new bike dialed in and up front
I finished 4th in the over 50 A which is one of my best finishes up in Utha in the trees
I rode the WR 250 and it worked great never stalled it all day it just ran great even up around 7000
plus feet in the mountains.I even had all the setting the same way i raced it in El Centro which was below sea level .Loop 1 was 65 miles and my 3.3 IMS tank made it ,loop 2 was only 40 miles
Round 9 is not until Oct hope to have my new Husky 300 all dialed in and ready by then .

It was really a great race course we had many water crossing and hill climbs .Almost all of the course was super tight and there were places where if you did not duck down the trees would pull off your bike Nothing was really that hard it just was so tight you really never got and rest if you wanted to keep going fast .The last 3 years i rode the 125 there but the 250 has just so much more pull between turns figure about 1/2 to 1 second faster between turns the next thing you know you were a few minutes faster add that up over 100 miles and that gave me my best finish up there .If only the Husky 250 weight was more like the 125 then it would be the best bike out there .George at Uptite keeps telling me my 167 will pull close to that of a 250 so as soon as he is finished i will report .My 300 should also be done in a few weeks so lots of choices

John are you getting a ZipTy WR300??
GP motos has a partial ex Bobby Garrison machine, but its looks to have been stripped of the goodies, besides that 300 version that he used for the 2 stroke races at Glen Helen would be more than a handful for XC events (and for mere mortals)

YES With all the goodies and more BUT we are keeping the motor stock my 250 seems to have enought so the 300 should be more then enought .BUT i want to address everything else we can on the bike should be able to make changes to everything i have noted from racing the 250 for the last year BUT weight if only it was more like a 125 in weight then the only problem would be me .
Should have it ready for testing in about a week ,I will take it up to the Ranch since it is now so hot down here you will have to come over and help me get it dirty
 
Agreed about the speed/power up , seems everyone is trying to make em faster, not usually good for non-pro level riders
Let me know when you are going to the Ranch for testing!! 4 sure if I am in town I would love to hitch a ride on the 3 honey, especially at the Ranch and especially with a little ZipTy/Pedro suspension magic. You will use the Marzocchi's ? or KYBs? Also curious does ZipTy stick with OEM standard 50:1 mix ratio?
yea weight is a tough one for sure unless spending big bucks on Ti stuff for example. Note temps were perfect up there last week low 70s
and we even snuck off onto the HS single track with no issues.
