• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Round 1 2012 VCHSS Smith Cross Roads.

Gotlabs

Husqvarna
AA Class
After having a successful 2011 season in the Vet C class I was hoping to carry my momentum into this season. Last year this course was a freaking mudfest and this year would prove to be worse. I pulled third on the holeshot made a pass for first shortly thereafter and held the lead for the first lap. A few miles into the second lap I got hung up in one of the many muddy ditch crossings and was passed by two classmates. I quickly realized that I had used up all of my talent on the first lap and would have to rely on my utter stupidity and fitness to carry me the rest of the way. I fought back to make a pass for second but ended up in 4th for the next lap. So many mud sections made line selection difficult but so important, most places had multiple bikes sunk. I was lucky to only have issues twice, the second one cost me a couple minutes because I had to lift the bike out of a 2' deep rut and get going again. I made it through my four laps to finish 3rd with just over 30 seconds seperating me from 2nd. With this being my first year in B and only second season of racing, I'll take that and smile.

Overall results 67 of 146

I was the top finishing Husky in the AB overall, a couple riders had mechanical issues due to all the mud (no details just word of mouth after the race). I can't emphasize how much I love my carb'd, kick start, no-rekluse WR 300. Looking forward to hitting a few races on my "soon to be new to me" CR150.

Great job, more riding/racing less reporting/talking. Sounds like tough one, great ride man!!

I know I know! I need to ride and race more, but my sponsor won't allow it! I will be racing this weekend, hope to keep the momentum.

Here is a start video, AA is the first row to go and A expert etc... My row starts around 3:37, the 700 series. A buddy of mine on the pumpkin almost took me out, he slid into the corner and my front wheel was stuck to his rear wheel. Don't know how we managed to stay upright.

Gotlabs, that comment was not directed at you at all, you are one of the "ride more", talk less cafe members. Keep it going full steam!!
