AA Class
After having a successful 2011 season in the Vet C class I was hoping to carry my momentum into this season. Last year this course was a freaking mudfest and this year would prove to be worse. I pulled third on the holeshot made a pass for first shortly thereafter and held the lead for the first lap. A few miles into the second lap I got hung up in one of the many muddy ditch crossings and was passed by two classmates. I quickly realized that I had used up all of my talent on the first lap and would have to rely on my utter stupidity and fitness to carry me the rest of the way. I fought back to make a pass for second but ended up in 4th for the next lap. So many mud sections made line selection difficult but so important, most places had multiple bikes sunk. I was lucky to only have issues twice, the second one cost me a couple minutes because I had to lift the bike out of a 2' deep rut and get going again. I made it through my four laps to finish 3rd with just over 30 seconds seperating me from 2nd. With this being my first year in B and only second season of racing, I'll take that and smile.

I was the top finishing Husky in the AB overall, a couple riders had mechanical issues due to all the mud (no details just word of mouth after the race). I can't emphasize how much I love my carb'd, kick start, no-rekluse WR 300. Looking forward to hitting a few races on my "soon to be new to me" CR150.
