Been using this dinosaur oil in all my bikes since 2003, with or without a Rekluse and have had very good results. Ready for the one hour oil change and only have the 15-40.
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Yikes, a little on the heavy side. Better to pick up some T6.
hmmm, the rotella white jug and t6 blue jug both carry the jaso-ma rating, does the triple t carry that as well?I would steer away from rotella t6 oil on the these bikes. I have a 2015 fe501s which had the first oil change with rotella t6. Immediately after my clutch started slipping. Come to find out that these clutches are like the rekluse clutches. Apparently the rekluse and ktm clutches do not like 'energy saver' oils.
Ive been using rotella triple t instead on the fe501s and tc2t0...both 2015 models.
My 2013 yzf-r1 and wr250r bikes have no problems with rotella t6 tho.
So Mobil 1 0-w40 or t6?? I've got a 15 fc 450 with about an hour on her that needs a change too...Yikes, a little on the heavy side. Better to pick up some T6.
I do run the European car formula and I get it at Walmart. Its says right on the label approved for most "Mercedes Benz, BMW, VW, Audi, Porsche".
It costs a few bucks more here where I'm at compared to the shelf price at Walmarts in California or probably most any other States too, even when it's on sale. That's because when your "New" local Super Walmart is deliberately built just a 150 yards North of The US / Mexico Border. Like mine is here in Douglas, AZ. We have a much higher shoplifting rate here, so consequently the local honest consumer pays for those losses.
Everything costs just a little more here than if I drive to the next big Walmart 45 miles away. They have a much lower shoplifting rate as they are about 20 miles North of the Border.
Its just one of those things that makes you say "HUH"! Every time I go there.
The only way to understand why we have the higher prices is by standing in the check out lines and getting your feet ran over and bashed into by shopping carts. People from the families cutting into the lines with the items they forgot in the middle of checking out, while their carts are stuffed to the brim in the "Express 25 items or less line". Then the removal or cash payment on all the items not allowed on there Welfare WICS cards.
It's truly absolute total mayhem. I really feel sorry for the people working there. For them, it's sort of like trying to herd cattle out the front door with nothing but a spinning rack full of plastic bags.
If you pay close attention, you get to watch the little kids stuffing their pockets full of snacks and all the other goodies they (Walmart) for some reason locate right at the check out lines? Isn't that for impulse buying? Not here, it's Impulse Stealing! Then you watch their parents allowing them to get away with it you would say "Huh" too.
I'll still keep buying my Mobil 1 at my local Walmart. As long as the label is still printed in English.
