• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Rocket Exhaust Systems USA another alternative

Met with Don Leib up at Pala Raceway. His son Michael (Ricci Racing Factory Husqvarna MX2) was there earlier riding his TC250 but still shaken up from his last concussion in Europe.
Rocket is targeting a different demographic and type of tinkerer. Rocket can custom tailor your pipe by order. The price point is in the lower level of the exhaust manufacturers (done to access the lower cost market). Have you guys priced a full system from any of the well known builders?!. Don is using Stainless steel as the material of choice. The only Rocket pipe I have seen up close was a prototype SS pipe on Michael's 2011 TC250 practice bike, it was a stepped header type into a stepped collector and exiting an aluminum muffler can with a nice cnc end cap, it was a full moto pipe.
Rocket mentioned that by order he will shorten or legthen the muffler or adjust other parts to change the power character and or sound measurements. For the reason of personal customization I feel that Rocket is a real bargain and super cool for the home grown engineers that want to mod a pipe to their own standards.
Price point is in the 500 buck range, good in this market. At the least have a good look at Rocket Pipes as a made in USA personal attention alternative to the big guys of pipe building. You can actually discuss your personal requirements with Don Leib and get the build you want.
