• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

We had quite a bit of rain this Spring, but by August I"m sure the mud holes will be a bit more dried up. The water crossings were not too hard, but I'm always scared about the potential of watering out. Luckily that didn't happen. Those beavers like to challenge us by making dams in the middle of our riding trail allowing the water to pool up in the worst areas.

Rock Hound Rally / Trail Ride Update!

LOCATION START AND ACCOMMODATIONS HAVE CHANGED!!!

The Rock Hound Rally 2013 will now be hosted out of the Loon's Call Campground and Cottage Resort on Marble Lake close to Cloyne Ontario Canada.
www.loonscall.ca

This facility has cottages, tent and full service trailer camping. Make your reservations at Loons Call by calling them directly at 1-866-765-4756.
There will be a corn roast on the Saturday night, or the Marble Lake resort restaurant (2 doors down) will have a roast beef supper and full menu available.
The Event registration is on-line at www.rallyconnex.com/rockhound.html

Note: We have been getting calls from people who want a dualsport tour. We can arrange this as well. There are lots of twisty, scenic back roads in the area that we can make a very nice dualsport route.

The Rock Hound Rally is an aggressive course consisting of rock and wooded terrain. We use as little road as possible to link all the trails together.

It still seems a bit too far from my location, but I hope your event is a success.

I'm a bit perplexed why this thread is not getting more attention from people near you.

Ya, it's going to be interesting to see if any husqvarnas show up. We had some cafe husky groupies at our event last year that came from Upper New York to attend. Our local riding group is pretty small in Southern Ontario. We will see.
In the mean time... here is the "Rock Hound" photo of the day... We had a blast working on the trails and riding on the weekend...t
esting out all the bridges and the water levels are looking great!
