    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I've been hit by the dreaded dead TPS issue. After a good soaking in a race a couple of weeks ago, the TPS is failing: reporting 10-15% opening at idle and up to around 10-15% actual position, then 0% right up till 100% is reached when it reports 100% again.

I've swapped out the TPS from my spare bike so I can keep racing, but as expected, when I called Huskysport, the only OE part is an entire throttle body at £467!

I'm sure the TE630 isn't the ONLY engine in the world using that throttle body nor even the only throttle body using that specific sensor.

Has anyone had any luck in sourcing a replacement without having to replace the whole throttle body assembly?
 
Might be able to help you out.After much research it looks like a tps from a suzuki bandit 1250 is the same. I've got one coming so haven't been able to fully confirm it yet.

Yeah, I'm sure we're all curious. That would be great- thanks for doing the homework on this.
 
It looks like the TPS from the Yamaha YZF125R is also the same part. I have one in my hand (see photos) and I'll try plugging it in and testing soon (got a busy few days ahead and a holiday starting on Wednesday, so it might not be for a week or so)

From some Yamaha documentation, I believe it is also used on the YW125 Zuma scooter, but I've not actually seen the part to confirm it is identical. From my research, there is only one MAQS module that Mikuni make, so if an engine uses MAQS then it should be the same unit no matter the bike, spec or engine size, but it'll take a lot of digging to confirm this.

Checking the parts fiche for Yamaha, it looks like the throttlebody and MAQS is a complete assembly there too.

The one on the 2009-2013 Yamaha Zuma 125 has the plug coming out at right angles to the unit,different to the yzf.The one in your pics is that listed as a separate unit?

The Zuma parts fiche shows a TB and plug that looks very similar:

Looking at the fiche for the YZFR125 looks like it's all one unit too

Got back from France last night, went over to the workshop today to so some work on the bike ahead of the Centennial Rally that I'm competing in, in a couple of weeks ( http://bigbikerallychallenge.co.uk/content/centennial-rally )

While I was there, I swapped out the MAQS with the YZF125 item I got on eBay. It fitted fine, the bike fired up fine and iBeat reported no issues and all settings and measurements appear to be as they should be. It looks like it's certainly a viable candidate for replacement.
 
I did eventually grab a 2008 Bandit 1250 TPS off Ebay for $40 to have a spare. Drilled some holes and mounted it to a block of pvc to keep the locator pin from getting broken.

I'm pretty sure your locator pin is the air temp sensor.

Bought a 125yzf tps, don't now the year but it does not work. The output volts are lower, don't know the correct numbers but it's something like 600mV at 100% throttle on the YZF TPS and something like 800mV on the OEM at 100% throttle... No chance to get it work correct
