  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I've come up empty in my searches, but I feel like everyone else knows this but me.

What aftermarket throttle cable will replace the stock cable on -99 WR bikes? Parts book shows it to be 800075281

where are you located?
to answer,, Terminator from Motion Pro is your best bet on aftermarket cables
 
I'm assuming there is a motion pro number that works, but I'm not finding it. Stock part number doesn't work on the various sites, but that doesn't mean it doesn't sub to something new.

This is from the motion pro catalog. Throttle cable is the column right after the year. It has no listing from for 2t 250-360 for 1989-99 unless I'm mistaken.

I found a NOS one on ebay, but yes, according to the web, discontinued. If anyone knows a good aftermarket number or has other info, I'm still curious.

The chart doesn't have anything listed for throttle cable (columns 5 & 6) for those years. I think you are seeing the clutch cable (columns 7 & 8).
 
do you have the magura duo throttle that the early 90s bikes had? i drill and tap them for an adjuster and use them on my earlier huskies..

I don't believe that is what I have. Mine looks like the drawing above, and I think the one you are talking about is, um, more sophisticated.
 
Get a universal kit and make one up yourself.
I've got a Featherlight home build clutch kit from venules and the throttle too.
