  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Bought a rekluse from the guy. Put up my post on here in classifieds he sent me a pm saying he had a rekluse I send him 500$ through paypal and he sends me a rekluse pressure plate and cover and nothing else. Yay.... Tried to call him and he has my number blocked. Idk what to do guess I'm just screwed. Guy lives in Oregon and claims to be 70 Years old. Sigh.

 and i bet it was friends n family on paypal you sent to him, ffs thats a worry ive always had as you cant (ungift) a payment.
can you contact paypal and say you think you got the wrong email address?

sorry to hear that i hope something good comes out of it, failing that youve got 500 odd karma points.

Certainly contact Paypal. I haven't heard of "friends n family" that juicypips mentioned, so I don't know if that puts restrictions on being able to make a claim.

Thankfully, all the people I've dealt with on this forum have been great. Vendors and individuals alike.

Definitely let us know his forum name, and paypal address so we can avoid dealing with him.

I wouldn't get all excited until you talk to him. I happen to know that he has been building trail the past few days where there is no cell service or internet.
Chris donates many many hours each year building and maintaining trails.

Can we see a pic of what he sent you?

What I am missing.
Lining Plate
One of the screws in the exp 2.0 is broke. The 1/4 turn screws
Drive Plates
Fiber Plates
Wedges
Springs
6 X-rings for core center
Maybe the pressure plate adjuster. I don't see any fixed screws and it don't look like what the manual shows
Also didn't get a clutch basket not sure if that come wih it or not.

What I have.
Pressure plate - 113-004 part #
Friction disk - 140-203a
Core Center - 178-001a
Medium springs - 3 red 3 silver
Clutch Cover
5 gold springs for top of pressure plate

Not sure what this is for, but I know that for the X-lite, it doesn't come with a new basket. You re-use your friction discs, and mine didn't come with extra wedges other than whats in the rekluse unit. You definitely are missing steel plates.

I talked to Chris and everything is worked out guy was nice told me to call him before I ordered anything so I guess I was just alittle paronoid. But hopefully everything works out for the best

So why did he not send everything that you had agreed to purchase? Not blaming anyone but I'm not sure how you can purchase a product from someone and not get what you expect? Did you receive any photos of what you were purchasing before making payment?

This is what I see on websites that the kit includes for roughly $899 new.

Chris is absolutely a stand-up guy and as old-school honest as they get. I guarantee if you didn't receive a component it was an accidental oversight on his part. For that matter, RTFM dude, you don't even know what you're supposed to get.

Too bad you had to jump to conclusions and trash talk him before you had all the information.

I suggest you amend your thread title.

Jon, I think the lad doesn't understand where he is or who he is talking about. I agree though the title needs to go.:)
