  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

When I purchased my Wr300 awhile back a pile of parts came with it ... and in a box came a RMS - 6052 EXP 3.0 Clutch ... Husqvarna Wr 250 (99-13) Wr 300 (99-13) I was just wondering if any have tried this slipper clutch and how they like it ... I’m so old school it highly doubtful I will ever use it.

Is it the kind that lets the bike keep running when you dump it? That’s useful, as is idling in any gear without holding the clutch in. I still use the clutch lever.

Yes from what the previous owner told me... hard to stall ... cannot bump start it , and no hold back going down hill ... kinda like coasting in neutral.

Mine is on a TE 310 (w/TXC Injector and ECU) and I can definitely feel compression braking going downhill...not as much as without but a decent drag. I have a Beta 350 and decided not to get one on that bike.

Chisler, I have one on my '11 WR250. It has its advantages: won't stall if you lock the rear wheel, great in slippery conditions as it lets you run a gear higher and not have to worry about clutch work. You already mentioned the draw-backs: no engine braking, can't bump-start. So it's a trade-off but, for the most part, I like it. Is yours brand new? Let me know if you decide not to install it. I may buy it as a back-up as Rekluse no longer makes that model.

MotoChuck .... it’s yours for the taking, it was used by the previous owner for two rides ... comes in original box .. paper/pamphlet .. stickers ... as far as I know it’s all there for you
I don’t want anything for it .... pm me your address and I’ll get it the mail for you ... can also text you pictures of it if you want .... : )
