  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Rekluse model ?

sned2502st

Husqvarna
AA Class
I have decided to get a Rekluse this spring. I never had one but rode some bikes with them. I didnt know that there was more than 1 model. What is the best one for the WR250 for woods? I am a average A class rider but not looking to get faster just a little help in dealing with the getting older and lazier problem. What model are you guys using?

I would call them, they're great to talk with. I don't know if a Core EXP 3.0 is available for the WR or not. I thought it was only the Z start but I'd call em up.

for WR250 you can just use EXP disk. but it will make clutch pull very very hard.

i had it in my 09 WR300 and it was very nice to have.. but made clutch basically unuseable

I bought a used 09 WR250 with a Zstart pro in it. It works awesome and has a super light pull at the lever.

I occasionally see people removing them because they dont like them but never hear why. I never had one but would think they would be awesome

get either the z-start pro or the core exp. but don't get just the exp ring. It removes too many clutch plates and slips badly. I have the z-start in my ktm 450 and core exp in my beta 300. Both work great. the core exp makes the clutch lever feel more like stock but costs more.

Yeah I knew there would be some differences. I live 20 minutes from Fredette, who is a distributor and uses them but I figured the Husky would be different. Ill have to call them. Thanks.

Just got this from Rekluse.
Jeff,

We only offer Exp For your bike. The part number is RMS-6052, and costs $399.

Happy Holidays!

My exp never slipped. Worked great other than pull force required.

I have core exp on beta 300 now and it's great also.

I've never had any luck with the exp on my orange 200, I also had a dynaring on my Husky 125 which is very similar to the exp.
If that's all they offer, it's worth a try. You can always return it.

I agree, i have the exp in my 300 and the pull is ridiculous. Im going to piggyback it with a Magura next week. Hope it helps. Its nice not to stall but i'm actually riding worse with it.. currently i love/hate it..

I have the magura hydro clutch now and am curious as heck how the pull is with that $399 clutch

I have a Z-Start Pro in my WR250 (part# RMS 856) and it works great. The problem is that Recluse dosn't make them anymore. They do come up on ebay etc once in awhile.

I purchased a Z-start pro for my '11 wr 300 in June 2014 directly from Rekluse. At the time their website was not showing it as available. I was running a new exp 3.0 at the time and hated the heavy clutch pull so I called them to discuss ways to make it easier and that's when they told me they were making the ZSP again for the wr 250/300. I dealt with a dude named Charles i believe. I traded the exp in for the ZSP. It's a much clutch and well worth the extra $200. It's made me a better rider...and a little more reckless. Get one!

You guys better double check to see if the aftermarket hydraulic clutch is compatible with the Rekluse. I remember talking with them and they said the two will not work together.

Wonder why that would be? The hydro clutch pulls the same as a regular cable. Just has extra attachment to make it easier to pull in. Or am I not understanding

You can't adjust the "free play gain" with the Magura hydro clutch. Watch the videos on YouTube by RekRekluse that show the installation instructions and you will see that they have a specific adjustment you have to make after installation.

thanks for that, you saved me from an expensive lesson, I refuse to give up my hydro clutch. Love it.
