  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc rekluse in a 150

Thinking about getting a rekluse for my 150 but worry about ability to loft front end.

Anyone here run a rekluse and have a review?

Just posted some in ray_ray's Rekluse thread too. My 300 came with a EXP 2.0 installed which is the first auto clutch I've used. Clutch pull was horrendous, so had to start adapting right away. Now I love it and hardly pull the clutch at all anymore. But that's with a 300, lofting the front end is not an issue. Not sure how a 150 would act. The z-start pro is supposed to have normal clutch action and someone else posted recently it was still available for IT Huskys. May be a better choice for a small-bore. For a strong 250, 300 and up I would think the EXP 2/3.0 works great. Just adjust carefully and gear accordingly and forget about the clutch lever. The no stall feature is almost worth the cost alone.
During the thaw I swapped back and forth through icy section and ended up going off the very steep low side, backwards! A sapling on the edge got tangled in the handlebars and I hung off of it with the rear pointed straight down. The front tire was just over the edge of the trail, the bike was still running and in 3rd gear. I was so out of shape and tangled up I could barely move. It was all I could do to get a foot on and downshift to 2nd, then roll a little throttle on. The bike easily pulled us up and out of a really bad spot and I didn't use any clutch at all. Was worth every penny that day

edit Gotta say though with the stock carb the general setup didn't work anywhere near as well. Now with a Lectron, Rekluse on a big bore 2t really is a game changer for me. I live in the mountains, lots of steep up and down, but at @160 lbs I'm still able to run taller gears. With 13/46 I still hardly use 1st, just for tight u-turns and if I need to dig a trench :) Biggest difference to me is it builds speed off the bottom and through the mid range noticeably faster, basically goes faster faster  The Lectron helps smooth it all out and make it manageable.
One trick with the EXP 2 is to keep the revs up so the clutch pull is easier. I use the old mx tactic of playing the brakes against the throttle into and through turns, then I can clutch it easier if I want to, which I like.
Also practice and like letting the Rekluse do all the work through turns which can be super smooth and low energy output.

I have a rekluse in both a wr144 and a cr125. More often, with the light bike, I bounce the front. I have no clutch lever as I use a lhrb. I never was a clutch and loft guy. Bounce and throttle works for me.

Which Rekluse please?

Are we talking about a Rekluse for the Italian 125/144 motor? Can we have a part number, please?

RMS-6051?
I would guess that's the one, only one available it seems. I wonder why the diff in model years for 125 & 150?

I don't remember the thread, but do remember it was recent and poster said they had to call to get a z-start pro version. I'm pretty sure it was for a wr300. I'm planning to call them at some point soon and ask about the diff btwn EXP2 and 3 and whether it's worth it to upgrade.

Well... DARN IT!! Woulda had one long ago if I knew they were making one for the small bore Italian motor. Last I looked, it wasn't there and I was bummed. As for the year differences, I'd be pretty sure it's just because Husky kept changing whether they listed the bike as a 144 or 150, and whether you actually got a 125 with a 144 in a box as I did with my 2012.

There will be a ride report. I've had a Z-Start Pro in a KTM 200, 380, and TE450. Currently have an EXP Core in a KTM 300.
