  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Rekluse fit for TE 310

HUSQVNA

Husqvarna
AA Class
Does anyone know why the Rekluse that fits the 2006-2009 TC/TE 450/51 won't fit on a 2009 TE310? My understanding was they shared bottom ends, but I don't know that for sure. Haven't been able to get a voice at Rekluse to sort it out, but thought I'd see if anyone had any thoughts on the matter. Thanks!

It fits! You just need a clutch cover for a 450/510...I just did this for my 2009 TXC 250.

odd as the clutch cover pattern is same for all 09 4 strk. Must be just a clearance issue (deeper) It is as simple as your solution or even a spacer. Wonder how many units sold Rekluse lost out on due to "There aren't enough Huskys to make our time worth it" attitude that is prevelant in the industry. All better notice us in 2010 'cause like the carzy guy in "Independence Day" says......WE're Back!

By the way, my Rekluse Pro (RMS856) fit as well (but traded it for the regular Rekluse - RMS155), but I didn't figure out using a larger clutch cover would do the trick (thanks Russ).

That's the news I was hoping for. Have a buddy who was/is going to fab a custome clutch cover up for me, but if the 450/510 covers fit, sounds like a good option. Great news, thank you!

Are you using a stock/OEM 450/510 side cover, or aftermarket? Did you have to use a thicker gasket, or will the OEM thickness fit ok?

Good to know fact Fitness as all clutch components are different 09 TE 250/310 to 09 TE450/510 cover, basket, center, pressure plate and discs. That alone led me to "believe" it would not work.

If anyone is able to get one to work on a 09 TE310 I would like to know about it. I'm real close to going with EFM.

The Rekluse I put in my 04 TE 510 transfered into my 07 TE 450 which fit right in my 08 TE 250. The only adjustments I had to make was to those miny shims. The 09 310 uses the same bottom end as the 08 250 and is pretty much a 08 with a bigbore kit. I don't know if the newer Rekluse is much different than the 04. I don't know why it wouldn't fit. Sounds like it should but may need a deeper cover from the 450/510.

z-start pro

I would like to get the Z-start pro model for my 310. Does anyone have a pro model in a 250? Why would one fit and not the other?

I had the Rekluse Pro and now the Z-start. Originally, I installed the Pro in my 2009 TXC 250 and it fit perfect until I tried putting on the clutch cover...not deep enough. I'm almost 100% sure that if I had used the clutch cover from my 2008 TE 450, it would have worked. Instead, I traded my Rekluse Pro for a Z-start. Well, it also fit like a glove except for the clutch cover. This time Russ clued me in on the larger 450 clutch cover and bingo...that's all it took. The Rekluse Pro is over-rated for it's clutch action as it feels identical to how it works in the Z-start. :excuseme:

I ordered one today so we will see what happens.

I'm so jealous... Anxious to hear what you think, I'm a few months out before I can do it unless I find a buyer for my FMF Q silencer I've got in the Classifieds. If you get a lot of hits on the side cover your looking for and get what you need, send them my way, I'll be looking for one too soon enough. Sure is a sweet setup. Good luck!

I bought a Z-start for my '09 TXC250 but haven't installed it.

So, what I'm reading is that even with the thick gasket, it won't have enough clearance; I have to buy a 450/510 cover?

Also, I noticed that for some reason mine came with 2 gaskets. Do you think Rekluse threw the extra gasket in to use both on the 250/310?

I spoke with them on the phone and have learned more reading this thread than what they knew.

Thanks,

Yep. Come to find out though, the OEM side covers are quite affordable. I just pulled the trigger on one rather than going the gasket route. Seems like a great way to tempt an oil leak.
