• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

redirection from dreamer project YZ200 airhammer back to YZ125

Looks like I'm picking up a 94 YZ 250 this weekend. From what I've seen, looks pretty good, just needs top end work.
I might start a thread on it once I have it.

Make sure you have that heat shrink good and tight on the tubes or put a wrap of electrical tape around the top as water will get behind it a make the anodizing fester ! Made quite a nasty mess of a set of zokes I had by using that stuff over a period of less than a year.

Good call fellas, I need to find out what type S101 is using , there are so many types. We deal with many types in the aerospace industry M25053/4-xxx-x would be my choice its got meltable sealant lining the inside and once shrunk is water tight, but when needed it will still peel away fairly easy. He's been doing the same on Noah K's Endurocross machines, but heck those forks get serviced after every race. or at least shrink a ring of /4 around the end to seal it.

She's Alive!! started on the second kick and she even idles. needs more work, fuel was pouring out the standpipe overflow, will lower float level and verify clean float valve, petcock seal leaks like crazy, have a rebuild kit (K&L brand nice comes with everything for dang near 10 bucks) on the way. Thrill Seekers Collection honcho slagged me for the cheap seat (Ebay special), I will drop off my spare seat for them to cover to increase the bling level..... also still waiting for B/O rear of tank to frame rubber molded grommet mount. Cant wait to ride this thing, I set it up semi offroad with Hyde skid plate and cheap tusk handguards. Shell premium 32:1 with Maxima K2 synth.

The fuel tube from the petcock on valve....and the rolled vinyl graphic to collect the petcock dial drippings. Thx it is pure low brow tech. This bike is (going to be) brilliant!!

Need to say this for me one of the prerequisites of any machine is that it needs to look cool in addition to working well. My truck not so much

got it all done immediatly hit the trail zone. the thing is billiant, she rips and the Suspension 101 job is outstanding...I had neber ridden a 125 set up for my weight..wow great stuff. Yamaha CrMo chassis is big time good.

rejetted to manual spec for hot weather (we have altitude and heat) so went down 1 main to 450 (was 460) actually raised the needle from 2 to 3 ( I thought I was on 3 before), Pilot is a 25 and A/S is 1.5 per Yamaha manual. Oh and I installed my TMX38 (bought for the TX300) thunder products torque wing into the carb. I ordered another for my TX300. I had that slight increase in power when I backed off the throttle from WFO so this main should be spot on and safe. As for now no spooge but slightly moist and black at the exhaust tip. 32:1 with Shell Premium (ethanol is in it). Should show black but more dry now. Sunday morn will be day 2 . Oh and I checked and tightened a bunch of fasteners, and installed the gearbox vent tube. I may bring the gopro to capture some of the fun

testing 125!! it was heat soak hot day- my temp gauge was 105 in the sun , I'm sure mid nineties under the tree.
Truth is moving on the trail was not that bad. The 125 is running great zero spooge, but safely black and leaving a brownish haze on the inner plastic near the shorty exhaust tip. The torque wing is noticeable and the bike ramps up smoother from lower rpm. My freaking float valve is leaking like crazy, I will remove the assy and clean it out, I know some have a little screen before the valve and mine float bowl had dog hair or brush hair in it so it may jst be crap holding the valve open at the seat.....thinking on it now I will just buy a new assy, valve seat and valve needle, best way to go as long as Im taking all apart anyway. Suspension 101 feels great, but I will set my sag or at least check it. 9oz Steahly FWW on the way...I guess I am turning it into an Enduro Junior class bike...more trail less MX. Plus my friend with the new Beta300RR Race gave me his Michelin enduro comp 4 front tire.....so that will replace very old Pirelli on the front. I had the gpro and turned it on to show a rattlesnake. then turned it on and rode for a while but just left it on...maybe I have some good viddy......as Ive stated before Im not a camera guy at all they are bothersome for me.

made just 2 chesty cam viddys-- not great or even good...but I will post them up. after listening to my throttle control I need to practice my 125 style...... the sound great when on the gas, she's carbureting nicely

just received a new float assy and new float valve assy-----I figured if Im going in there again (many times during this evolution) anyway on a 2001 model carb (16+ years)....I might as well install all new stuff and be done with for @ $60 in parts. valve was cheap float assy takes up a higher percentage of 60 buck total

Plan is to ride the YZ125 this Saturday with our team leader and mentor , who will be using another crew member's newly built up "super" Beta X trainer , I guess it has a jet kit a pipe and full RR Sachs forks with a Fox podium shock- fully built by Al Stillwell.
Our crew daddys X trainer has oem forks (Formula brand I think they are) but John's supposedly has red leg Sachs forks on it.
