• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Holy smokes the English are cleaning up the Prologue, again. I'm still cheering for Letti even though no real Husky. Where are the USA entry's i have only spotted a few i thought perhaps more would make the trip to style with the best of them as this is the world stage and just look at the country's and their riders entered. What a shame we don't or can't; whichever. Anyway this is one very cool race. My pick will be Paul Bolton or door number 3.

Cory Graffunder wrote on FB that he broke the subframe during the prolog today

yep...

Was leading and way out front in the prolog today. Subframe broke with 2 laps to go and ended up last. That's racing, I'm just looking forward to the next 4 days.

- guess we know now why no one else uses plastic subframes

Atleast he was on a 2 stroke so the fuel injection couldn't fail lol

ha ha ha... Was just thinking watching MX this weekend, wonder how all the top racers in the world can thrash those bikes so freaking hard and not have any EFI issues and they ALL choose to run EFI even though they could run a carb.

I just do not understand how so many people in Europe sign up for these events and love them. Yet here stateside we only have a few of them and nothing as big as a European one. Hopefully this year we will have a few more. I hope so I am ready

Europe does not have:
BLM
DNR
DFW
DSL
DOI
DEQ
EPA
ELF
Sierra Club
list goes on of groups with big money lobbying the government to "save" the woods

Ashame we don't do that here. Great video. The crowd would love this shxt. Notice no smoke at all from these bikes, Huskies look good. I need a Huskie soon.

Actually I think the inverse of this might be true. They don't have the endless opportunities to ride all over the place and are often forced to ride events instead of free ride. I certainly dont feel pushed out of the woods at all.

Lots of guys I know up here in the NW are always bitching because of overlapping races and they cant attend them all.

The idaho city ISDE sells out in 30 minutes and you better stay up late so when the clock rolls over 12:01 you are on the signup page or you don't get in. Most local races fill up to limit and there are 4-5 a weekend local to choose from.

Its a good point kelly we have restricted access through out the uk many ramblers/walkers complain even tho 99% we kill our machines or idle on by they just dont like the noise or the fact we can blaze about having so much fun.
For example its now illegal to ride in one of the largest beach woods in England with a fixed fine of 20k

So yes we support our local tracks and events we love it, i look with green eyes upon the pastures you ride an the pics you post makes me wanna ride all too much.

Oh I forgot to let people know that we ran into some hikers out there yesterday, they were super nice and thanked us several times for our trail work. Not the normal response but I'll take it!

Well you were clearing shared paths so your doing them a favour.
Fair play tho sounds awesome.
We are lucky if we dont get shouted at!

I wish there was some way we could watch some chunks of this type riding to try and pick up on what they are doing out there in some of sections ... We can see most of the MX\SX stuff but not alot of the end to end racing these guys put forth ...
