• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi folks,

starting this thread because I'm traveling tomorrow early morning to Sibiu. I'm there as a normal visitor. If possible, I'm posting a few pics every day in the evening.

Sorry for posting so late but the WLAN didn't work yesrterday in the hotel.

Arrived here in Sibiu (Hermannstadt)/Roamania after 11 hours and 900km of driving.

Picked up in the Ramada Hotel my badge and proceeded to the prolouge training. What's a plaxground for Lettenbichler&Co is painful for the Hobby Class. A lot of rocks, trees, tires.

Afterwards I was in the old town of Sibiu with German friens for a pizza. They are here the second time as riding doctors.

BR, Joe

PS: Tomorrow with pics

Just came back from the prolouge. Heavy rain all the day. The heros are the hobbyriders under this conditions. Wet trees, tires and rocks. Also difficult for me to shoot good pictures under this light conditions without a flash.

Update: I was waiting 10 hours yesterday on different spactator points to shoot the riders. I only saw approx. 15 of them. You caan imagine the drama. They also had to reroute the track because it was also impossible for the Pros because of the high water in the creeks.

Raceday 2

The Rallyetross moved to the city of Petrosoni for one night. I didn't follow, because it's to far away. Also the start was one hour driving out of Sibiu. Today it is the first day without rain but a lot of fog in the mountains. This is normally november weather.
Also the evening in the paddock was very interesing talking with some of the riders. Also to watch the factory teams working on the bikes. Guess Blazusiak damaged the frame on his KTM.
Now I will look for a hardware store to get a brush to clean my new camera and lens from all the dust and mud.

Update: The found the last driver in the mountains from yesterday. I'm good informed, because in my guesthouse is staying the helicopter pilot with his toy standby.

Hi,

he is on Raceday2 on the way to Petrosani in the moment after 4 hours on third place. Don't know how much penalty time he got yesterday for not reaching Sibiu within the 10 hours race time.

Talked a long tim with US rider Glenn Tyson (see photo) from Colorado. He's participatin Hobby single class. He's very optimistic for tomorrws final day.
