  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

rear tire that lasts?

14te449

Husqvarna
B Class
Only got 500 miles out of my stock rear tire on te449. Is there any tire that last longer and performs well in dirt? I ride 80% dirt

You might look at the Dunlop D606, Mefo Explorer or Heidenau K60 Scout (but it's *heavy*). Trouble is that you asked for "performs well" and "lasts longer" which are typically opposite qualities in an 80+% dirt tire...

If you were riding rocks and hard gravel 500 miles or 900 kms is not bad wear and rear.
I figure about 3-4 rides-best not to get below last 20/25% of tread as you will not be too good in sand or mud.

I have a 606 with over 1000 miles on it. Great compromise tire if you just ride a little bit of tarmac. I swapped out out for a pure dirt tire for racing but kept it for future dual sport use.

I was running a set of motoz on my te449 i really liked it and it preformed well in all conditions. The set had about 1000 miles on it about 600 700 of that are road and still had life on them. I have a new set waiting to go on the 501 when the stock ones are done.

Pirelli xcmh wears nice and is good in sand mud and rocks. front tire in unbelievable, even good on the road

I was looking at the Motoz Tractionator Desert H/T any one had one of these on a 449/511 if so how'd you like it

The Moto Z's are very nice. I'm running the S/T Enduro rear (130/90/18) on my Berg 570 and love it. The Desert HT is also good and probably more durable.

Out here in the dry rocky desert southwest a lot of us run a Maxxis Maxxcross Desert-IT on the rear. It's not the greatest but it wears pretty well.

is the motoz desert tractionator in 140 too big for a TE310R? I'm also considering the scorpion pro in 140. I didn't like the maxxis desert ITs.
