  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Really good 2013 Husqvarna TE250R/TE310R mag review here...

I used to think I loved the 2012 310 but as it turned out, I didn't know what love was till I rode the 2013 lol. The tc449 still wins though for two reasons. 1) I don't feel cramped on it 2) the torque makes up for dumb mistakes. Really if the 310 was put in a 449, it'd be my favorite though. I can't believe how much the changes meant, for being the same bike with a few mods it feels like a brand new motor.

Oh the TC449 also wins for style :)

It was funny because I went to the shop to rent the 2012 and they pulled out the redhead. It was like Christmas. I even called my wife and told her I got a redhead and she made fun of me for how it sounded. Of course she already knew what I was talking about because these bikes are about all I talk about lol. I really thought riding that bike was just going to be bragging rights and actually riding it surprised the heck out of me.

Accurate article for sure. I have the 13 TXCR and now have about 200 offroad miles on it. Broke it in at the NW Gathering. The next weekend we made the last Cascade run which had long steep elevation changes. The last two weekends were 40 mile rips throught the tight single track of our winter riding area. The bike works great everywhere. I also have a TXC 449 and would agree that the 310 is just as quick corner to corner but much easier to control.

Russ let me ride his bike at the gathering and I fell in love. What a sweet bike. I think Blake was ready to have his way with it here...

Good article, but I'll once again voice my displeasure about the mention of a built-in hour meter...

Yep, Darren Smart tells it like it is and it's influenced by certain advertising heavies predominately seen in many mx mags!!

Great article find Kelly.

Been saying all along, it is the best bike I have ever owned.

If I had some extra green bax laying around, I would grab a 449 .

Went to the dealer last week to buy a 2012 TE310. But I passed on it , I really want the 310R.

Just another test/ review to prove it.
