  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Raising the 2012 TE250 "Low"?

BullerS

Husqvarna
I have done a ton of searching all around this forum and others and have seen a few people talk about raising the 2012 TE250 back up to the height of previous years but can't find anyone who has actully done it... It looks to me like they simply changed to a longer lower rear shock link and pushed the fork tubes up a little in the triple clamp. The part number on my link says 8000B0237 and it looks like previous years had the 8000B0236 link. Mine also measures 5.5". Can anyone with a slightly older TE250 weigh in as to what the eye-to-eye length of their link is?

I just bought a 2010 Husky TE310 that has been lowered- a lot. I want to return it to stock height. The link on my bike also says 8000B0237 on the link itself. I see the parts manual calls for 8000B0236 but that’s the part number for the link plus all the bushings. Is the link itself labeled B0237 stock or do I need to order a B0236 part?
Thanks for any help!

They either put spacers in the shock and forks or used shorter damper rods.

Spacers are easy to remove, Longer damper rods are harder to get and expensive.

I can tell you that Husky used shorter damper rods in the SM forks back in 2006 as I had to change mine out in 2008 to get longer travel.

I bet the shock just has an internal spacer.

They probably lowered your with spacers and maybe shorter springs. Just swap them out.

This is an old post, but I was looking into my lowered bike and found this post. I need to add something to the information here to prevent future misunderstandings.

I was also surprised to find the part number 8000B0237 on my linkage. I also thought that it should be 8000B0236 as mentioned in the parts catalog.

However after looking at several parts etc. I'm convinced that the 8000B0237 linkage is original. The part number 8000B0236 refers to the linkage INCL THE BUSHINGS AND BEARINGS.

Same is valid for the triangular part in the linkage. On the part itself it is mentioned 8000B0238 but in the parts catalog it is referred to as 8000B0239 INCL THE BUSHINGS AND BEARINGS.

So don't get worried when you see these part numbers on your bike...
