  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Fantastic report! Loved seeing the Huskies and Ivy's success!!

Yeah, I don't know what was better: riding with my favorite riding buddies on our new bikes in primo conditions or seeing the improvement in Ivy's riding. It was a toss up!

Well, WC I'm convinced, the next time I go out west to visit relatives in San Leandro I'm bringing my bike if I drive. Nice terrain.

Hey, even if you don't bring your bike you can still ride Stonyford! We've got a garageful of bikes just waiting for your arrival. Seriously.

Thanks for the pics and report Woodschick! That TE 310 is a spicy meatball. OBTW, I am completely jealous of the riding. It looks like so much fun.

Well, get out here as soon as you can so you don't have to be jealous anymore! The trails we rode on this ride were pretty mellow, but there's lots more good stuff in the trees :D

Ouch....that one picture of the saddle laying in the middle of the trail makes my butt ache.:busted:

 My butt never even touched the bike when the seat was falling off. I was on the pegs the whole time, but I felt it slip past my legs as it flew off the back. I was like "WTF??" I stopped and looked behind me and there it was, pretty as you please, just sitting there in the middle of the road. Pretty funny :p

If I do come out I 'll let you know. The last time I was there it was in April of 2003 so I'm due for another visit and the weather was perfect for riding.
