• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

RaceTech gold valve 40mm forks

DG15

Husqvarna
Hi,

i wanted to ask for your opinions about the RaceTech gold valve upgrades for the 40mm Husqvarna forks from the beginning of the 80s

I‘d like to upgrade mine but these parts are hard to get in europe so I only can order them in USA

Is it worth to do that?

regards from Austria
Daniel

Hi Daniel, I think they're worth it if you're interested in maximizing your 40mm forks performance. I don't think they're worth it just for the cool factor. I installed RT's gold valves, plus their springs, in my 77WR 35mm forks and I'm very pleased with the result. It was expensive but then I considered the importance suspension plays in "not crashing". Since the 40mm forks work on the same premise as the earlier 77WR 35mm forks, I'd say you'll like the upgrade.

Hi!

Thanks for your detailed answer and sorry for my late one, was a bit busy.
For sure, I want to maximize the performance, not only in terms of speed, but i know from my other bikes that a smooth suspension could improve everything, including crash safety.

So i#m going to find a dealer in europe or someone from the US who can send me the right parts as "used" because this is much better for customs from USA to Austria

best regards
Daniel

these contacts you can‘t find on google, i‘m going to contact him soon

small shops in the backyard of a house or inside a barn are alway the best, it‘s also the same in Austria

thank you very much!!
