• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Quick TM tidbits...............................

Nice guys! Cam, loving your garage and the bike stands! Very cool.

Long time no cafe husky! Let's make this into a TM parts and info sticky! i'll post some info soon.

Have an EN 155 (yes 155!) and an 03 125 MX. Pics to follow.

I know a thing or two about them, have an EN300 friend of mine has a MX250, and another friend has a MX125, I do the most of the bigger maintenance on them.
When I need help the Dutch importer (Ralf Schmidt from Gravity Racing) is always helpful and knows everything about them (also stocks every part), Pete Vetrano knows him personally as-well.
Dealer support is very important if you own a TM, luckily the few that are a TM dealer are very passioned about them and helpful.

Or are you talking about the Mitas tires, don't know about those. Actually don't really care about tires as long it has decent knobbies and doesn't wear to fast.

I don't have a lot of time at the moment but put 3 hard hours on the 12 TM 250MX this weekend. first if you are old school like me. cut the bolt 3/16 to a quarter inch to get rear brake pedal height to be low enough for rear brake draggers like me. ENGINE****************************************!! This thing is INCREDIBLE!!! Yes it is a motorbike and a tish pipey (Map switch seems to do nothing to me anyways!) But engine very workable for a c rider to a double a rider!! crawls down to low rpms without a problem and no stalling issues at all!! It is a rocket on top! Very very nice. Juice clutch has old school feel as in a touch on the hard side, however you barely have to pull it in so not bad! Ergos very very nice feels very modern. Brakes work very well. Handling very neutral. THIS BIKE CAN BE PUSHED HARD AND YOU CAN TRUST IT! A tidbit to Gas Gas. I'm sorry but the Gasser is not even close. At least for a race bike. If the Gasser weighed what this thing does (I have read anywhere between 216-218) the Gasser would be such a better bike! The front end on the gasser (12 anyways) does what it wants to and the rearend swaps like a lost pig at anything resembling whoops! This thing seems to be as good as a x-lite chassis just not as much flex. But instills confidence and trust. Proven by the fact my double A buddy could not get away from me and in fact moved over a couple of times and by the end of the day said he may put the 150 KTM away and pull out the 250 KTM. he rode the TM and had no complaints. Just a very strong engine with unbelievable throttle response but very very ridable!! Chassis is slender with a low enough seat height for my short 5 ft 7 frame. Suspension. I have not touched the clickers but in this form it is rideable but stiff never the less. Forks may need lighter springs and or revalve and or lighter oil. Can nt bottom even hitting whoops hard! My one buddy did comment. Man you sure ride that a lot faster then that Gas Gas. At this point I have determined the current Gas Gas is either and old guys bike or a good B rider bike. I NEVER could trust to ride the Gasser fast. (the old platform I could!) the front would do what it wants! And no matter what rear pad I had on the Gasser would over heat the rear brakes until I drilled a 3/4 inch hole directly thru the rear caliper!! Out of time for now. More tidbits soon! The fact is if this thing hols together I have found a viable Italian alternative that has never had anything to do with ORANGE:cheers: Do not really feel the need for lower gr50 tooth rear!

Can you lucky dog!!! Gonna try to get a new one next year**************************************** And keep the 12 for fun!!! What the wife don't know won't hurt her****************************************! Hey them new ones have the alumrinum water pump impeller??????? PS PS not pi king on gas gas I like them but told it how I truly see it at the moment the gasser is still very very sexy!!!

Cafe Husky as always is a great source for information, even if you don't ride Husky (anymore), great forum with lots of helpful people on it!
BTW did you know the radiators and radiators louvres in front are KTM (oops), rear brake pads are YZ125 (and the like), front MC is a Nissin Honda unit, front brakepads same as Husky and KTM.
Footpegs are the same as Husky/GasGas/Yamaha, brake clevis is Yamaha, Brembo clutch same as Husky/KTM/Beta.
Conrod same as the latest model Honda CR250 (02 to 07 I think), crankshaft is different though.
Piston is TM specific, although you could run a Gasgas, CR250, SX250 piston (with slight modifications), (stock TM piston is very very good).
Carb is a Keihin PWK airstriker (screw lid), so those parts are readily available as-well.

Front fork is either Marzocchi 50mm CC, or KYB SSS 48mm, the later being very common (Yamaha, Kawa, Husky).
Swingarm mudflap is from a Honda CR model.
I can go on and on, parts isn't what use must fear buying a TM.
As said before, some parts are cheaper others are dearer (but higher quality).

Plus one on shortening the rear MC rod, did it to mine too!

Only thing that annoys me from them is the kickstartshaft, the splines are cut to far so the kickstartlever moves from left to right (can be easily fixed by welding some splines so theres a positive stop).

I think you mean KTM uses the same radiators and louvers as Tm. Lol. OK if that is true where are the radiators made?????

The radiators are WP units, the louvres even have the KTM logo on them (yikes). They work way better then on a KTM so they are fine.

I got me a new 2011 TM 250 MX and it was way to much bike for me so I gave/traded it to my son. Like you said it's a rocket! My son sent the carb and head to RB for his work, installed the new TM rear shock, and Ohlins TTX in the front. Oh, he also added a FFW to further smooth tings out. It's even sweeter now and sure isn't orange :D:applause:.

Ha ha I'm gonna look at my louvers tomorrow night and see if that is true. I don't believe it! When and skf bearing says Tm racing right on it I find it hard to believe the louver would say KTM on it! I'll check it out for myself possibly KTM needed some tidbits of there own to claim from Tm so they tossed them a bunch of radiators and louvers there way lol........... the thing I k ow for sure is there is no platform sharing going on****************************************

KTM (as WP) is an OEM for radiators as well as frames among other items, contracted from other manufacturers or even private concerns. Never the less the beauty of TM Racing is how much of their bike is built right in their factory under their own roof.
Much more than other manufacturers that source many more items from the moto market place.

Also I want to remind you all (haha) the name is not just TM (Tomas and Mirko) It's TM Racing Spa.(Inc)
I am happy for you guys, your bikes are artwork.

Ha ha I still haven't looked at the radiators but I bet like the skf bearing that says Tm racing right on it the radiator won't say KTM on it! And yes of course I know it is tmracing! Gonna try to ride tomorrow forming up to poor a garage slab today. Buy cards and kisses and off to ride tomorrow............ need to start messing with clickers. Believe forks have .45 springs which sound wayyyyy to stiff for my 164 pounds!! Need toove shift lever location as well previous owner must have had a size 13 boot! Cheers!

i just love that its tmracing, only hrc has that tag in their corporate name. kart racing and moto racing company. for their sake i really hope they can get another world enduro championship. my friend davide had the first for them way back in the eighties on the 125.

Beautiful piece of machinery. What happened to the forks on the other TM barely visable on the right of the picture? To say that the new TMs are bad ass is an understatement.

Video.footage. Tm. Husky Italy. KTM. Tm spit me off kind a hard a.couple.times. rode a 13 or.so KTM 250 sx for a good.distance. had flywheel and revolved suspension. Not bad! Prefer the Tm but the juice clutch on the KTM was much better as the.revolved suspension was to! Hunters ville Mn. Enduro there next weekend. Still waiting on new.plastic for the Tm****************************************

Rode the bike yesterday and today. cannot emphasize how good this engine is. Clutch pull sucks bad feels like and old yz 490 lol! The engine does not stall easily will idle down to nothing and is a pure rocketship when needed! No noticeable quirks like my gassers. Handling is spot on and I mean spot on carves like warm butter! Steering lock much much better then a gasser in the tight stuff! Parts I'm not sure 2 weeks and still no plastic??? Boiled over rear brakes need to get pedal even lower! May drill a hole in the rear caliper like I did my. gas gas. Dare I say this chassis handles as good as a xlight chassis!!! Seat hard and thin like a KTM. Again clutch action is fine and no fading with hard abuse but pull is obnoxious!! And no I'm not a wuss! Map switch doesn't seem to do much if anything. I can't even tell which one is the mellow one! Can anyone verify the stock 12 MX fork zoke comes with a .45 fork spring????? I think it needs a .42 Cycle playground still knows nothing about a aluminum water pump impeller. Adjusted rear shock preload to four inches and went two clicks softer on high speed dampening seemed to help. Factory triple clamps with solid mount in my opinion transmit more vibration and wrist shock to the rider a clamp more like a husky or gasser seems a better choice. very light feeling bike. Predictable and trustworthy at speed. Seat height fine for a short guy like me. 5'7". Ergos very modern feeling spread out. Like a new generation gasser brakes very good. But I still think I would prefer a brembo rear caliper and if I ordered a new Tm I would probably try to get it with a marzocchi fork and not a us press species kyb nothing feels strange or out of place on the bike at all!!

You shouldn't have problems with the clutch, mine (Brembo), pulls pretty light, I've bent the lever a bit as I have small hands and on closest setting it was still to far out.
The rearbrake rod is a bit to long, cut a few mm of so you van lower the pedal more.
Wouldn't drill the rear caliper, never heard of boiling, you must be dragging the brake.

BTW, did you know TM offers you the choice for solid or rubber mounted clamps?
I did have the solid and am now using the rubber mounted ones.
