• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Questions about 2000 te610

uranys

Husqvarna
AA Class
I'm looking at a 2000 or 2001 te610 and was wondering if someone could answer a few questions for me:

Are engine parts readily available? It smoked a little and had some top end noise that I think was probably the cam chain (seems like a common problem). I'm not afraid of wrenching a bit, but I don't want to have to chase parts.

Is the cylinder in these bikes plated with nickasil or something similar? I see wiseco and pro-x make replacement pistons, but only in a couple of sizes.

What are some other things I should be looking for?

Thanks in advance!

There are TE610's and TE610's
- Some are the 'Original' 610's
- Some are the TE610e

Between the late 90's to early to mis 00's there were aproximately 4 variants of the same bike, not including MX and SM.

Main question is: Does your bike have an Electric Start? :excuseme:

No electric start, just a kicker on the wrong side.

I ended up buying it by the way, I just couldn't resist!

I bet you rode it Huh???

Yeah, I rode it a little, and chassis wise it felt great.

It felt a little down on power though. My daily rider is an xr650l with a hi-comp piston and a hotcam and I think it would out motor the TE in it's current state, which I don't think should happen.

Still looking for answers to my initial questions.

Thanks!
