  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Q Stealth or Leo Vince for 2009 WR250

in regards with the DB snorkel i did buy one and tried it out.

it does make the bike quieter the only thing that hapend to me (and that was disapointing) I had a minor crash and the dB snorkle broke (yes the rubber part)
on its first ride

I feld quite cheeted as i did exspect that it was designed for off road use including a drop of the bike what occasionally does occur.

nothing else was bend or broken on my bike (only a sore shoulder and a broken dB snorkel)

Old thread I know - wanted to asked if the LV silencer comes apart with allen screws or is it riveted? Is the perforated core welded to the stinger? Want to make sure it's as easy as a PC or FMF to re-pack.

It's easy. I don't recall if it's welded to the stinger or not though. It does have bolts on the stinger end. I think 4mm allen head, but could be wrong as I'm going from memory. I need to rebuild mine again here in the next few weeks, so I can verify all this later.

I'd buy one again, and I might have to beings my CF end cap cracked, and it's just not as sexy with zebra striped duct tape holding it together. Also lost the grommet for the spark arrestor access (actually it's up inside the endcap somewhere). DEP + LV = pure awesomeness.

I just got the Q Stealth for my 300. It may be a little quieter but not much. I've only ridden it up and down my street a couple times after installing it yesterday but
it felt a little snappier powerwise. I'm really lovin' this bike, so much fun to ride. Aside from the P.O.S. kickstand , which apparently there's nothing better available.....ek hummn...Kelly ?? hint...hint..throat clear hint..
better kickstand...hint... Not only is mine bent but it comes down while I'm trail riding. I know there's an ongoing thread about this, didn't mean to hijack.... here's my new silencer.

my only complain about LV is that spark arrestor screen prevents pipe plug to go inside.. so pain in the neck when washing bike and it smells because can't plug in the exhaust.

Ya I would only install screen when LEO anticipated. Is it relatively easy to install/remove? I guess you could slip on a nitrile glove and secure with rubber band to overcome the wash plug issue.

always... communist state man..

I ride year round but our forests are flammable prolly 60-75 days per year. During that period it will be installed. A gallon of gasoline and a match wouldn't light anything afire here now.
