    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

125-200cc Pros and cons of a Revloc Dyna Ring for a WR144 woods riding?

Considering installing a Dyna Ring on a nice WR144 that I just purchased. I am a intermediate woods rider and really enjoyed a Rekluse Pro that I had on a KTM 400. What are the pros and cons of this auto clutch and any suggestions on install would be greatly appreciated.

Run it and see how it goes. The clutch pull was really hard in the 250 and it was at the end of adjustment in the cable so I shimmed the rod inside the housing and it made a big difference in the clutch pull.
 
I liked the Rekluse in my 250 so I tried a Revloc in my 165 and had the same experience as Kelly. The Revloc didn't have the same positive engagement feel as the Rekluse, so it seemed to always be slipping a little bit. I messed with the adjustment and couldn't get a satisfactory result so it only lasted one ride before I took it out.
 
I won a Revloc for a 125 on ebay and spent a whole day fiddling with it all to no avail, I just thought it was the 165 making to much power for it to handle but from reading the above posts these things DO slip a lot.
For sale one Revloc only done a days testing :lol:
 
The problem with that style of auto clutch is that you loose one extra plate to make room for the fat plate that is the clutch.
I had the same slipping/adjustment issues that others have mentioned with the Revloc on my 165.
I switched to an EFM clutch and never looked back.
 
Thanks for all of the responses guys. It sounds like slippage is common thread with most of the installations. Would slippage be decreased in my 144 vs the 165 bikes? Anybody like the Dynamic Ring in there144?i
 
I have a dyna ring in a 125 and a rekluse in a 144. I run a lhrb on both so I don't have a clutch to fan. I don't seem to have trouble with slipping. I also don't feel much difference between the dyna and the rekluse. I race the 144 in b class and I feel the setup has helped me get to the top of my class. I don't even consider try to be fast riding a bike in the woods without an auto clutch and a lhrb.
 
Well I installed the Revloc today and I just can't seem to get it dialed in. It seems like I need to adjust (shorten) the throttle cable but if that happens I will run out of room at the bottom of the clutch assembly when engaging the clutch if that makes sense?. I am considering placing a larger diameter washer to increase the gap and try to get the bike to stay still at idle as opposed to moving forward when engaging 1st gear. I was also considering the clutch tightener set on the right side of the frame but feel once again that it will not be able to pull the clutch all the way as it will stop 3/4 of the way throw its throw. I have adjusted the clutch at the handlebar about as far as it can go.
 
The extra washer did it! I really am enjoying this thing. Cant wait to take it out. I think my gap was off from the start.
 
Phaeton, would you describe how you corrected the clutch pull by shimming the rod inside the housing? I would like to make the clutch pull a bit easier also...
 
You did that by adding the washer. You can try to lengthen the clutch arm on the motor. Or there are different clutch perches that may help. We just got use to the heavier pull but adding the washer did help.
