  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Problems with Enduro Engineering Rad Cages for my 2010 TXC 450

Husqvarna
AA Class
I purchased a set of enduro engineering rad cages (braces) and I am not impressed with the fitment at all. The instructions are vague at best and there are extra spacers etc that are not mentioned in the instructions. The braces contact the gas tank when fully assembled, the rods that connect the inside brace to the outer brace are too short and the bolts that were provided for the shrouds are not the right size. Has anyone else had these issues?

There should be some washers in the hardware kit that are about the same size as the rods. You can use those to shim out the braces so the rods fit. I went to the hardware store and bought some extras as well. Here are some pics.

I just put a set on a 2013 tc250 and if I understood the directions correctly there are 1/4" thick washers that go between the rear radiator mount and the frame. That might be to help with clearance between the tank and the rad brace.

I've tried every combination of washers, spacers, etc with no success. I contacted my dealer and enduro engineering and they are looking at the pics I sent them and will get back to me. Enduro engineering got back to me very quickly and have been very nice about it so far. I will know more tomorrow. Thanks for the replies.

Here are the pics for those interested. Now that I look at the other pics posted my guards look very different from the other ones. ???

I think you've got the outside guards on upside down. Take the right one off and install on the left, and the left one off and install on the right and see how they fit.

look right to me, when compared to the pics in post #5, as well as mine on the 310.

My EE gaurds didnt line up very well either, but i'm about 90% sure that was because the radiators are both rainbow shaped.

Here are mine from the side. Disregard the fan position. It was too high in this pic.

They are clearly marked with an L and an R and I tried switching sides with even worse results. I am headed to the dealer today to return them and get into a different brand.

I'd call EE and get their opinion. They are very responsive, and they really do have a good product. If you did not buy them directly from EE, my guess is whoever sold them to you sold you the wrong ones, as they do not look like mine, which fit perfectly after I shimmed out the brace tubes with the washers they supply.

Did you get your radiator braces sorted out?
The dealer I purchased them from returned them for me and I purchased a different brand. I'm actually still talking to enduro engineering about them but no conclusions have been made as to why they fit so poorly.
