  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

If you confirm that, and how well the 09 TE kickstands work for the 2008 bikes, the other things in my previous post, then summarize that - then start a new thread with a link to this thread - that would be *huge*. It is really tough for me to follow this thread. Perhaps others are also having trouble understanding the situation as well. Lots of posts to read in this thread.

I'll bet Pro Moto Billet would also like a summary before they begin a project like this.
 
I am sure if Promoto Billet waits long enough, everyone will either figure out a way to modify their existing stand or purchase some other manufacturers stand. As far as I am concerned they have already waited a year too long. If they had these available a year ago, I feel hundreds if not thousands of Husky owners would have purchased them already. Personally I am going to give them a few weeks to change their mind about making a stand to fit my bike and if they don't have one in the works, I will purchase one from someone else and make it work.

Perhaps we should spread the word over at thumpertalk also.
 
I'm with you on this one Joliet! I wouldn't mind waiting for PMB if they have something in the works or if they could tell us when one would be available. Maybe Motosportz will come up with something that doesn't require us to cut the tab off the frame. I can't keep looking for telephone poles to park my bike. Maybe one of the forum members that fabricated one themselves could make some to sell. Just an idea.
 
If PMB makes a direct bolt on for the TE610, I'd buy one quickly.

Now if they'd make a center stand I'd buy one immediately! No design needed, just bend & weld the one shown in the TE610 parts book!

I'm planning on taking Coffee's request and making it happen. it will take a few days though. Before I do any of that, I want to talk to someone at PMB and see what it would take to do the R&D and produciton.... if they say 100 orders, we're probably up the creek. lol
 
Hey guys, dredging up an old thread her. Without reading through all the posts, can someone give me the quick answer: Are there aftermarket kickstands for the 08 te 510's?
