Really interesting place, a long way from home… Officially; this was our first trip to this race location.
The forecast had decent weather with temps around 45 at race time. Looked a little menacing at race time, but cleared up and turned out to be another great day to race.
Cornfields, cornfields, cornfields…I'm not sure where they found the hills but they did.
Morning 'C' race… 200 C 16+ line had 28 bikes… one Husky…
They moved his starting row up to mid-pack…welcomed change.
The start pulled a long decent grass field into some big sweepers. Off the line decent, but pinched at the first corner. Been taught to back off and survive for the long haul. Turned out to be a good move…
Right after the start, they ran the tail end of the big loop for a couple of miles to get to the scoring area. They actually had them stop and be counted just like an official lap. Caused a major backlog at the scoring area…
After the 4 1/2 minute ''first'' lap, he was thru in 9th with the main competition ahead in 5th… but there was only 20 seconds separating 1st thru 9th as they headed out on the first official ''long'' lap. The race would end up being 4 long laps, 1/2 hour each.
Next lap thru he was in 3rd with a little NASCAR tire rubbin' going on…
The main competition was in 2nd with just over 2 seconds separating 1st thru 3rd.
Next lap… thru in 1st with a 9 second lead…
Next lap… thru in 1st with a 30 second lead…
I think we have confirmation of the trademark shirt tail out again...
At the checkered flag… 1st by one minute and 7th overall out of 381 bikes
Absolutely rocking on the 1-2-5...

Track was fast…Andy got pulled by the 200's in the open cornfield track but put some time on them in the woods. The WR(cr)125 worked well…had it singing all day!
His total run time was 2 hours: 4 minutes…the gas level was lower than usual. I'm going to check the float but I think the constant higher rpm's are going to account for the usage.
With the throw-away races starting to come into the picture Andy has a 1 point lead for the series championship…Tenn. will be a showdown!
