  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Power up suggestions TE449

It seems for some reason the my13 bikes don't come with them in many cases. I guess the government found out and put a stop to including the map jumper since it probably makes the bike ” illegal”.
 
Yeah mine did not come with it and the dealer had no clue what I was talking about. I just used a piece of copper wire to jump the plug, works fine.

In Canada the power up plug and the muffler came with the bike, your dealer in the US should be able to get what you need. Good Luck!!

I run the MY12 TC449 air box lid.

And if you dont want to wait on ordering one, its a simple two post jumper which just needs a sort piece of wire to connect. The factory plug isnt a resistor like it was on the earlier bikes....just a solid jumper. Or a switch can be used if you want to turn it on and off....that is how the TCs come.

http://trailtech.net/switches.html Some examples....however nobody but Radar is interested in the open position on a TE :) so switching is superfluous until you have different maps or a JD or PC5.

The PCV is going to take you far beyond what that plug does. Go check out the downloadable Maps for PC over in the Zip-Ty section.
