• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Potential windscreen option?

Going to check out one of these to see if it will clip to the top of the number plate and provided a little bit of wind protection to the upper body without introducing too much turbulence to the helmet area, and also keep wind/bugs off my phone/gps.

Anyone try one of these? It looks like there may be just enough room between the instruments and the number plate to fit the clamp in.

Screensforbikes!!! Fits right on and works great. I used mine on the Trans America Trail this year and can verify it's good!

beautiful in that way is' fixed?

Thanks - the bottom is shaped to match the top of the light and the middle mounting hole re-drilled a bit higher. Important to mount it with rubber bushes to allow space between the fairing and the screen for laminar air flow (as many know but some not).

I've left to emails over 3 months with screens for bikes without a reply. Not great service. No way to order online.

That's bad news on the screens. A bud and I ordered half a dozen screens and service was good. Still, I will try to snap a pic and post it.

I contacted them through their website and the responded several hours later. Looks like I'm gonna order one from them.

This would be another solution, a bit expensive (€ 130,00 ) but enough strong and protective and the frame can be used as GPS support. Maybe a bit high in offload drive..KIT WINDSCREEN SWM RS 650 R AND SM 650 R (MODELLO SUPERDUAL)
