• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post your riding pics!

You don't use much of your front suspension!

Sure he does...all about the last inch. Peer down and see the "darker" dirt travel build up at the bottom. Top shiny is probably just from tying down after the race and coming home.

Hey Joe-

Shirley you have some pics of that purdy new 125 in the garage...maybe even just one of you wiping her down with a soft diaper?

purdy???? wiping her down????? Bling factor is a mute point here in the land of rocks and mud and she is lucky to get a good pressure washing monthly. As long as I can keep it clean enough for the areas I rareley have to work on I ride it and ride it hard and put it away wet. Exceptions being chain, sprokets, pivots, bearings, air filter, and scooping excess mud off it. I like the bike to look nice but concentrate more on how she runs. Now the vintage bikes I own are treated as "godesses's". different story.

Took a pretty good ride yesterday afternoon exploring a few trails I have never been on. I really need to upgrade my camera/pic taking skills cuz most pics didn't come out all that great.

Unloading from big green. 214,000 miles and going strong.

A couple of pics from the first rest stop of the ride.

The second stop at a place called the 4 way. Where 4 different trails come together. The trail I came up (second pic) is some of the only single track here as those damn quad riders outnumber mc guys 10 to 1 so most of the trails are 2 track.

Just a couple pics from the trail. Testing new kickstand designs along the way, many different models to try.

4 pics from silver mountain, about 12,400 ft. In the last pic, the highest peak on the far left is where ill be in about 10 minutes, also in the second to last pic dead center.

On top of that peak now. Bennett peak, about 13,200 feet. the ol girl is sucking some serious wind up here, and so am I. The peak between the 3 white snow dots and the lake in the background is silver mountain, where I took the last pics.

Great job and pics as usual.

Cupcake cheat's on an auto-clutch trail bike with a trials tire. ;)

That downed bridge looks like and interesting element- 'do-r-die' there eh? Reminds me of the teeter-totters in Red Bull Romaniac's.

Good stuff guys- keeping me jealous.

This is a shot of me on day 1 of a 3 day, 666 mile trip around AZ.

And one of my Italian hottie a little further down the road (like a few hundred miles).

My thoughts on the other red brand!!

Lifted from somewhere, I thought it was funny.

Yeah but they upgraded it :>)

Yeah, I saw that. I'm really looking forward to spinning a few laps on one of those. Sure would be nice if Husky had that kinda R&D budget.

Yeah, that's a big jump from the old version. I like it. After spending almost ten years racing Hondas it sort'a makes me go hmmm......

Here's a few pics from saturday. It was supposed to start out as 5 bikes on this ride, with 2 huskys but the only one who didn't back out was mike (orangecoloredendo). Some of the trail was the same one I rode last time I posted pics, so I didn't take any from that section.

Early part of the trail that winds through a sweet aspen grove.

Up above timberline now. Some nice scenery in the background.

A couple of pics from along the trail. I sure wish I had a better camera. The colors just don't come out the way they really are.

An old power shovel at the Summitville superfund mining disaster site. This place is the definition of a mess. I only took pics of this shovel, cuz the rest of the area is a total eyesore.

The last trail of the day. Again, the colors just don't come out that great. The hill in the background was red on top, and faded to green at the bottom from the aspen changing colors.
