• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post your riding pics!

Guess I could show a few of my home turf taken during my 1st year riding a Husky (FYI: a Husky TE510 is not a good snowmobile)
Area in last photo was victim of recent burn, started by lightning, kept going as controlled burn by forest service...hopefully not to bad

Those are great pictures! How the heck do you get over those stacked-up concrete pipes? Fast? Slow? Paddle?

A few pics at Reiter

David (fitness2go) and I rode a few hours at Reiter yesterday. Managed to snap a couple pics and some video of David showing a hill who the boss is!

Weather was forecast to be rainy and cool but we lucked out till the very end with near perfect conditions and little dust. No shortage of rocks and roots though. We were both a little overdressed anticipating cold rainy conditions and ended up being soaked with sweat instead. I got a good workout picking up my bike multiple times, David got a workout coming back down trails to figure out what the hell was taking me so long:busted: No injuries and no broken bikes so we were happy:applause: Glad to be able to ride with someone as patient as David:thumbsup:

You had to carry some momentum. Too slow and you would loose traction easy. Too fast and it would get ugly on the other side!!!

Did a 265 mile dual sport ride last Saturday taking in Chequamegon National forest in Wisconsin. No racing but just some photos showing the upper midwest woods. Having that 3 gl IMS tank certainly relieved alot of stress about fuel.

Got up early a couple weeks ago to play the Garden State Tag-O-Rama on ADVrider and I couldn't pass up a gratuitous misty meadow Husky pic...Managed to catch the geese flying by, too.

Wow!! It looks like you were riding in incredibly cold weather!

Thanks for posting your photos!
