• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

post your last purchase for your 630

interesting website...how much were the footpegs? I did not see prices.

I saw a big bore kit for the 610 (570cc to 600cc). I wonder if they are working on a TE630 big bore kit :)

the pegs were 159 euros, but it was their last pair, at least in red. I did not enquire any further if they had more in stock in other colours. Though I wouldn't mind a set in black. The filter cover is 59 euros. I've also wondered about a big bore kit, but I've got enough on my plate atm. Just shoot them an email. They are more than happy to answer all your questions. I'm currently working with them to put together a red silicone hose kit for the 630 since there doesn't seem to be one available on the market. The cooling kit in the special parts catalogue will not fit the 630.

cant wait for a silicone hose kit

The hose will be preformed i think. And wouldn't straight hose kink? i sent them a bunch of pics of my bike with the tank off since they don't have one in their shop to look at. They want to eliminate the thermostat out of the loop which will help with cooling. They'll work up a hose kit, which I'll install, take more pics, and then they'll see any problem areas and improve it.

Not sure what this means...
If you take a look on your bike, it's the large cylinder in the middle with 3 hoses connected to it. I assume it's constricting the flow in some way. I won't be sure 'til I take it off. HTM probably wants to replace it with a conjoined "Y" silicone tube. Forgot to mention, my first suggestion was to order the stock hoses and then they replicate them with the silicone. But they want to take it a step further and try to improve the flow.

You know, that thermostat deals me fits every time I need to pull my valve cover to check my valves. I'd love to relocate it, or eliminate it completely.

Removing thermostats is old, OLD shade tree mechanic work. Engines are designed to run at a certain temp, and the thermostat is crucial for maintaining that. There IS a reason it was engineered into the bike, it isn't just dead weight...

could not agree more, especially a FI engine

Thanks for the info. A little googling confirms it's generally not a good idea to remove it, especially since my bike runs in the Pacific Northwest. I'll let them know I don't want it removed from the loop.

I agree. But moving it somewhere else would make checking the valves a lot easier. The two biggest obstacles when pulling the valve cover off are that thermostat (because it bumps into the frame tube) and the coolant hose running out of the top of the water pump. The hose I can mash out of the way. The hard plastic thermostat, not so much.

Shouldn't be a problem putting it somewhere else, was just intercepting the "remove" crowd :)

update: they will keep the thermostat in the loop. No word yet if they will relocate it.
9/28 update: they just ordered the parts from Husqvarna, so in two weeks when they get them we will start putting together the hoses. If anyone can offer suggestions as to where to relocate the thermostat please let me know.

New sprockets and chain guide! Mine were toast after 9000 miles.

Decided on the GL Fandango tank bag. Glad I did. The 630 offers up a nifty installation option...loop the back straps under the rear of the tank instead of down to the frame. The zip-off base makes accessing the fuel tank easy -- just zip the bag half off and flop it to the side. The seat comes on and off without needing to loosen the straps. Very nice setup.

New toys - JD Jetting Kit, Power Up Kit, 14 tooth front and Pireeli Scorpion Pro tires front and rear. The bash plate is a couple of months old and saved putting another hole in my casings a couple of times. Next job is to drill a hole next time I do an oil change so I can get to the drain bolt without removing the pan. Have taken full installation pics of eeverything if anybody needs them.

Installed my Uptite skid plate yesterday. Man that plate is a thing of beauty, but more important it fits perfect, greater protection with the large side wings and is very strong. Sure glad I didn't buy one of the cheaper brands.

TourTech rear brake reservoir cover and oil plug. Half bling and half security. Will slow someone down or discourage them from messing with your parked bike.
Temp012.jpg

TourTech front brake line clamp. Mostly bling but does add some strength over stock plastic clamp if your snag your cables.

Fork air bleeder valves, replace stock screws. Makes purging air an easy push.

My backordered luggage rack came in and is now in-transit to me. I have a dual sport tail bag for the rack already. New Lock-On grips in-transit also, will install my Moose barkbusters at the same as grips.

After those get installed that will be all the farkles planned for awhile. Maybe prior to next summer's heat I will install a single exhaust to shed 15 lbs. and reduce heat from the stock catalytic converters cans. Will get a JD Power Surge at that time. But for this winters riding I might actually appreciate the heat from the stock cans some.
