As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
The only thing I´m still looking for is a new gear shift lever that I can get my foot (with boot) under ... and is guaranteed to fit the 630.
You guys may like the Fastway pegs set in the lowboy position. Lots more room for boots. I don't even think twice about being cramped anymore.
Propably easier solution than to search for a longer/different shift lever. Thanks for the tip.Exactly what I did on mine, I also fitted peg relocators at the same time. I wear Gaerne SG12 size 10 which are a big boot at the toe compared to other boots, had no dramas with this set up
you can see surprisingly well with them mounted like that. I like functional mirrors, and when I picked up this KTM it had flimsy ones that didn't stay put.Do you actually see anything in them with that location? In my original "bug antennas" the mirrors are mostly filled with my own elbows.
I'm thinking about getting taller bars, or maybe a higher bottom clamp. Did you have any problems with cable reach? Finally got my HDB hand guards on and am happy with the results. I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the customer service from this company. Despite not having a regular telephone number for contacting them, they were fast on E-mails when I had questions. Not only did the kit come with an extra set of plastics, extra LEDS, extra bolts, but they also threw in an X-large HDB logo'd T-shirt. The hand guards are much beefier than I had expected, which for me is a good thing. I went with the 2.5" riser for the lower clamp and am glad I did. When I stand up I don't feel like I am leaning over as bad. After a day of riding my lower back felt better as a result. I also noticed that I can see past my elbows in my side mirrors better than I could before. The only con so far is that the bars do vibrate more now. I wasn't expecting this, I had thought there would be less vibration with the way they attach to the top clamp. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has the anti vibration inserts and if they really work. I plan on putting a Powerlet socket in one of the open ports on the top clamp and then a Ram mount for a GPS in the other.
Now if I can just get a decent shift lever that is extended for my size 13 foot!

Thanks. Don't know anyone with the inserts, no. The vibration doesn't bother me, really. Not really, the cables that run beneath the bars for the electrical were a little tight, but I was able to pull some slack out of them without trouble. The other cables for the brake, clutch, throttle were just fine. You know anyone who has the anti vibe inserts for them?
I'm running protaper woods high bars with a scotts damper sub mount overall I think it has lifted my bars about 30mm to 35mm, no dramas with cables and a good riding position seated or standing.I'm thinking about getting taller bars, or maybe a higher bottom clamp.
