• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Will you be buying a KTM based husky soon?

It is way too early to tell for me until I see what they are selling after the KTMs with different plastic and linkage. 2015-16?
I like the idea of WR gearboxes and being plate-able. We'll see.
I have my Italians.
Price?

Let me rephrase that. I am still wishing that I could AFFORD a Cagiva built 125/150.

I have a problem selling my older bikes off and moving on, but I get attached to them and I think you have the same problem?
We are both at the age where a small bore is only tooo good.
If you get one (again) I think you will wonder why you waited so long.

I have a trio of KDXs, two 200s and a 220. Except for wide open stuff, these little bikes fill the bill nicely. When I got to ride the three sizes of WRs, I liked the 300 the best for its torque, the 125 came in second for being the most nimble, and the 250 came in third, probably mostly because I've already had so many of those in the recent (and distant) past. I swear....if that little WR is still sitting in the shop down in SD when my consolidated loan is paid off in three months, I will probably pounce on it. Oh wait a minute....my health care insurance is going waaaaay up, so strike that last remark.

Until I see some "separate" thinking/execution on the Husky, it ain't happening...my current Husky collection will keep me away and happy ,thank you very much....got no need for any other brand either..

Thats where I am at.

These new huskys upset me at first because they completely scrapped the italian bikes I love. I am warming up to the new bikes and think if you have money and a good dealer these are probably going to be really good bikes.

I like your spirit.

If I had the spare cash for a new bike Husky would certainly be high on my list along with Sherco and Beta.

As long as parts are available for my 310 and 630 I will stick with what I have, love them both and have no need to update.

If I wanted to be riding a KTM, I would already be doing it. The name on the side of the tank means nothing to me.
Aside from the fact that they will have nothing in common with the bike that made me a better rider, too many people I know have had problems with theirs for me to take the chance. I will probably look at Gasgas or Beta next.

I said I wasn't going to do it, but I am pouncing on a '14 TXC 310R. These prices are just too good to pass up.

Even so, I'll be looking very hard at the new Huskys in the 2015 timeframe. It will sting to pay almost double what the 310 is costing, however.

Nooooo! I´m less and less inclined. And am contemplating getting rid of my 630, as I´ve never really liked it. I´ll take a really good look at the CCM with the new 449 lump when (and if) Clews makes it as a sumo. Otherwise, there´s sure to be someone with a good 500-600cc road legal sumo (preferably made in Italy).

They're to expensive for me
I had the opportunity to race a 13 txc 310 last week and it was amazing. I also love the tc449 and really want to try a 165. Really no reason to pay big bucks for a 14 Husky. If anything I'd be interested in a te250 but not for 8k. I'm not upset with the whole deal. Just disappointed that I can't buy one of each of the "old" ones at the fire sale prices :)
