• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Please give examples of what should go in this forum if we keep it... I'm really not sure what things are supposed to go in here.

All the racing can and (IMHO) should stay together. One stop shopping to stay up on all racing activities. I am not a racer, but enjoy reading up on the activities.

Yup, I agree. News is news is news. Cycle News lists all the news in one spot, and I can scroll down and read what I want to read. I don't have to go from sub-forum to sub-forum, all the while waiting for my tempermental computer to cooperate with me.

Racing is racing, and I love all forms of it, but having it all in one easily accessible place is good.

I like all forms of racing, but as a mainly enduro rider.... I like, all enduro, all the time format.

I'm not happy with the current situation at all.

Newsroom - Happenings in the World of Husqvarna > Enduro News

This site is blessed with some outstanding riders and with luck more of those will join - a ride report from an enduro they raced in is definitely news cause those exact same things would show up in a magazine.

But, at least based on the proposed title of this section "Enduro News", the average person that rides in an enduro event should not have his information in here because it would not normally be published in a magazine...

I keep getting 'hung up' on the title...

I've PMd you my phone number, let's talk.

Looking at it now, I'd have to second-it!

News is News and I enjoy reading everything (Enduro, Moto, Desert, GNCC, WORCS, EnduroCross, Supermoto... also we don't know at this point how much Husqvarna news is going to be available and it would be kind of silly if say there wasn't any Enduro news for a few months.

So keeping it in the same bucket makes the most sense.

Maybe whoever is starting the thread starts the heading with SUPERMOTO NEWS- or GNCC NEWS- just like CycleNews does in their news section?

Dean... it still looks good...nice good job!

If the news is out there you will find it

Your efforts are much appreciated

After some time on the phone today it has been decided to group all racing together, at least for the time being.

As such I'm moving the threads from the racing sub-categories to the 'racing' section and removing the sub-categories.

I'll leave this thread in here to drift down to give people a clue how/why the racing is arranged the way it is.
