I'v had my husky for about 2 months now and have taken her out about 3 times now and I'v had lots of problems :'( just wondering if all these problems are normal untill you get all the aftermarket nessasitys?

crash one: tankslaped over whoops smashed the hole front end to bits light computer everything realy brittle plastic
crash two: scrubd a jump nice hit a rock just after the down ramp pile drived the bike to the ground snapped the stock cemoto hadggaurds to oblivian
crash three: dropped it on a steep rocky up hill yesterday. snapped the botom of the magura clutch lever mount. THE MOUNT HAD AIR POCKETS AND WAS CRYSTALISED!!! very disapointed no jap bike of mine has had crystalysed castings

beef one: you have to spend 5 minutes makeing sure the fuel cap wont leak
beef two: weeve been having 40 degree + days here in australia for the past month and the decals have completly delaminated
Beef three: if the bike drops on the clutch side the clutch lever will jamm up and you have to fiddle with it to get it to engage again. i dumped the clutch once to get over a log and up a hill and it jammed up so i had to bail up the hill or id flip.
beef four: the clutch start switch just disconects randomly when your riding hard

but it has a real nice engine

i relise most of the parts braking arnt actualy husky bits but husky do put them on there bikes. its going to cost me alot to get it as durable as a standard wr isnt it?
im thinking big barkbusters $150
ufo plastics kit: $200
new computer screen: $$$?
proper acerbis lights: $220
new clutch master cylinder :$$$?

so is this normal 4 huskys to fall apart in crashes? and having to bolt all these extras on? i have crashed kawasakis and yamys heaps harder and they walked away fine

(im sorry about downing the husky but the engine is absolutlye beutiful its just no other bikes of mine have faird this bad after minor crahses im betting i got a lemon)

So you crash and break stuff and that makes a husky POS? Plastic on the huskys is slightly brittle but not a big deal. I have over a 1000 miles on my WR125 and my buddy Shane likes to toss it on the ground for me and nothing broken. i have had a lot of huskys and put a ton of miles on and have had to replace very little plastic wise. I run hand guards. As for the pocket in the perch... a casting flaw is a casting flaw. As this is a brembo and used by KTM these are on a LOT of bikes. Not really a husky issue. Has for the graphics pealing off, yep, huskys do that, have for a while.

HDB makes handguards AND a dash protector, I defy you to break them.

+1 crash damage is not husky's fault. IF the casting was bad I'd be asking for a warranty replacement.

Beef 1; you don't mention what model or year of bike you are complaining about.

I agree with the above post. If the part is defective it should be covered under warranty if you bought the bike new, but we have no way of knowing that,(see beef 1).

I have crashed my bike pretty hard and it has held up better than expected.

I hope you body holds up as well as your husky does.

At least the Magura lever could be rectify thru the dealer
Not sure about the other issues since it seemed you were the culprit

its brand new te250 2009, i no its not the huskys fault its mine for pushing it way past its and my limit after i ran it in lol but still i flog all my bikes and they dont brake i cartwheeled my kx over a double it cartwheeled 6 times after i got out of hospital i preasure washd it down and the plastics were just scuffed and levers bent 40 bucks later the bikes fine 6 months later and $1000 of shoulder reconstruction im fine lol. but still a small slow drop and your master cylinder brakes the levers ment to be the week point. i forgot to mention it was the cemoto hand gaurd pivot bolt that was holding the lever on and that bolt snaped in half.

yeah im going to try to get the master cylinder through my 2 year warrantee because it had a big casting flaw

its as shaged as a stock orange bike 4 shoulder dislocations= reconstruction shattered elbow torn rotator cuff 4 ribs brokd fractured my back broke me thumb twice on the right once on the left and im only 16 thts why i went to a 250f to try to stop hurting myself (medibank private hates me hehe)

Yeah, the TE models have a lot of stuff to break off if you're not careful. but you gotta realize that there's a lot of street legal stuff like blinkers and a license plate. your kx is a dirt bike. of course it's going to hold up better on a tumble.

it is the price we pay and iv completly ripped all the street stuff off when i got it because i knew it would snap off in the tight tee trees. all well after i get more protection for the bike i shall get back on it. im only 60 kg and she feels way to hard any oppinions what weight there sprung at?

Man (teenager) your injuries are quite alot. I would say slow it down and stop crashing and swap out that 250 for a 510. The 250F's are fast no question about it, but you need to keep them on the pipe like a 2T. I think if I had a modern 250F when I was a teenager I would have wrecked more. I was 15 when I got my twin shocker (Fox Air ) XR 500. I rode it hard but I didn't have to ride it hard to go fast. I can only guess that you have alot of open terrain in OZ and I would say the 510 would be a better choice for you. I find myself in the mid/upper mid range on my TE 510 and I am in control and hauling arse with a big smile on myface. I ride mostly old fire/logging roads (2 track). A 250F for me would be to much hand work for the same smile. Stop hurting yourself so you can grow up and get old.

Back on topic. I would say a Husqvarna is NOT a lemon. Rider error is to blame for external broken parts.

okay.....point 1, dont cross up and stack on whoops and complain that you broke stuff, take them off the bike if you want to ride mx(or forests like i do)

2yr warranty on parts... dont know if crashing and wrecking parts is covered in warranty ? i doubt it somehow..
levers are 12 bucks from aussie ebay or any bike shop (not main dealers) ..magura and brembo both !

husky's have their problems, all manufacturers do.
yamaha suspension s shithouse after 1500klms
kickstart lever sheers and costs 700+ to repair
honda valves and electrics
ktm, swapping oils and bearing issues
huskys have bottom end issues and other stuff

and so on and so on...

all bikes have problems but most problems are maintenance and rider issues... you ride, things wear and you stack, things brake.. welcome to trail riding ! lol..

I'd say rider all the way he,he,he. Those stock hands guards and the roost guards that the Mx crowd calls hand guards do little more than protect yours hands from light weight slappers and dirt roost and keep your hands warmer when its cold out. Forget about them protecting anything in a crash. Hell, they won't hold up in a tipover from a standstill w/o breaking, you need some sturdy aluminum under there to protect your levers/master cylinders when tipping over.

See a KTM would have snapped the triples off and maybe broken a swingarm. I have stuffed Huskys pretty hard of all years and not broken what you have broken bike or myself.
Ever hear that saying slow down to go faster? Sounds to me like you need to learn to ride correctly once you learn that you WILL be alot faster. Right now you are fast for a short period then crash. You are the one the 40+ year olds pass in a race while your laying on the ground complaining about how big a POS your bike is.

I have an 09 450, before it goes anywhere near the dirt BARK BUSTERS go on! I have skillfully dropped my bike too many times to recall but haven't broken anything! (Touch wood). Yes the plastics are weaker than Yami and the stickers peeled off! Im getting new decals from Kenny Signs to replace the old ones. It would be nice to put the 2010 plastics on the bike as the graphics are inlaid in the plastic like the Berg! (no stickers).
