    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

125-200cc plastics- years interchangeability - is that a word?

Ive got an 04 cr125 and liked the looks of my 05 tc much more. Im fairly sure i can bolt up 05 fenders but what about the rad shrouds or side panels?

I like the front numberplate but putting numbers and backgrounds may look a bit silly as it has the husky logo cutout.
 
I can tell you that I once purchased 09 tc plastics for my 08 wr and nothing but the front fender would work. Ended up selling whole set back on ebay, but I did double my money :)
 
I don't think tc and wr have interchangeable plastic, maybe 09 wr plastic would work
or in the 1st post 05 wr plastic
 
You would need the 06-08 cr/wr 125 or 06-current wr250/300 seat and fuel tank to make upper and lower radiator covers work. You will have to weld a threaded post on the frame as well as change out/relocate the two rubber bushings that the tank rides on to use the newer tank. Then it will all change over. If you don't want to do that much work the 2005 two stroke rear number plates are slightly more modern looking and will fit with the new style rear fender well.

That would be a great start, so get 05 rear fender and side numberplates. That will all bolt on? You are correct i do not want to replace the tank and have to do any welding and what not. Just was looking for any cheap and easy ways to improve it.

You can buy rear number plates but they won't be plug and play. They are not made for the old style seat so they would need a lot of modification to fit with the old style seat.
Also they won't fit at all with the old style tank plastic.

I had some newer style plastic lying around and thought about doing this but it's just going to be very ugly and wouldn't line up at all.
 
The 05 rear plates are specific to the 05 model year and will work with older style shrouds and new style rear fender. You are correct that the new number plates will not work with old shrouds.
 
I have wr 125 -08 plastics, tank, seat on My wr 360 -2000. Direct bolt on, just have to change tank thread and Those rubbers under tank. Like Drtrider82 Said.
 
As Plastics are hard to find i suggest to convert a pre 2000 Bike with a 2000 onwoards plastic kit, subframe 00- (or a modded stock subframe), tank and seat, if u go for the latest plastics u ll need to weld a braket on top of the Main beam of ur frame.
It s easier to modify the 1995 onwoards bikes than the 1992-94 as u have to cut a re-weld the tank brackets onto the frame.
hardest part would be to modify the subframe- it needs to be narrowed so the plastics and seat will fit- otherwhise it just wont look right- the newer subframes are a Lot slimmer.
Also on some old style radiators u ll have to build a braket to adapt the newer style plastics.
There are a few guys over here which have done the conversion- i haven t got a detailed picture- but its worth the hassle of doing it as u ll get all plastics in all coulors easily.

I would not suggest to convert to the 2013 WR 125 plastics as the frame, subframe are totally different- all other 2 strokes are very similar with only slight modifications to the pre 2000 bikes
