  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Plastic Kit Compatibility

Hey yall,
I have a SM125 2007, and want to buy new plastics for it since the old one is really burnt by the sun and is well worn.
I really like the 2010 and above plastics, and I was wondering If it is compatible with my 2007 bike, or it it possible to modify them to fit. Basically I want new looking plastics (2010 and/or above) for my older (2007) bike.

I'm no expert in in this era of Husky but I do know that BMW purchased Husky from Cagiva in 2007, so you may be looking at two different eras of Huskys with different plastic mounting characteristics. You'd have a better chance at a reply if posted under Husqvarna Motorcycles - Italy.

I just did some checking of the parts diagrams and the tank shrouds are the same. The side panels however the left is the same but the right side is different probably for the exhaust. The front fender is the same but the rear is different. The lower radiator shrouds are also the same.

I think the rear subframe and airbox is different on the newer small displacement bikes, making fitting of those panels hard on a 06-style plastics bike.

That’s true about the 125s but the 250/300 remained the same until the end .

Exactly what I mean with small displacement bikes. Keep in mind though that the 250/300 still did get minor changes such as the rear fender on the WR and the fork guards being different on later model years.
