• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Working on some product and EFI settings. Had a chance to ride with long time buddy and fast guy Scott who I have not got to ride with much lately. We had a great day, staged out of the back yard of a new friend and railed epic trail on a perfect day. Scott and buddy Richard are fast guys so it was good to have to push and find limits. LOVE that freaking TXC and the new EFI settings yielded some great results in MPG and performance. Really could not have been a better day.

The end of this one has some good stuff in it.

Also accidentally put the go pro in pic every three second mode and it caught some cool stuff. Will have to do that more.

Some of those here...

Ya I must say having the feature of taking stills plus vid while riding is intriguing.

I just have to get over the bulgy look of the camera. Looks OK on your chest protector. But to mount on your helmet...looks like it could get ripped off PDQ.

Cool pic/Vids Kelly.

That is such sweet terrain. All those Pines! Nice weavy and ryhtmmy. Reminds me of south south Jersey or the carolinas. Also that I got to ride in the PNW before I croak!
Are you compressing the file sizes before you post or running in whatever size they are? I have been compressing and notice the quality with the Go Pro Hero drops off after a clip is about 3 minutes or so because movie maker does that and can only compress to so big (around 40 MB IIR)

Yep, awesome place to ride. Nothing challenging / technical climbs etc but super fun. this vid is me chasing long time friend and A class enduro champ on a well setup YZ250 with the trails tire and rekluse. The perfect setup for out there. i was impressed with how well the TXC did and allowed me to keep him in sight which is not something that happens a lot.

I do not compress the vids before uploading, Youtube smashes them for me. The quality on this end is 2x better. Looks awesome on my big screen.

I'm so upset that I sold my helmet cam last year when I moved.:banghead: I've been looking for another one, especially since Kelly is showing off his new ride with all these sweet clips!

When I get one again, I will try a chest mount because my last one got ripped off my helmet and lost in the sandy woods. And I'll also safety wire it so if it gets knocked off I'll feel it dangling.

I love the chest mount with the go pro standard. With the go pro wide angle it is too low and there is just too much of the bike showing.

Mounted to the front chin piece of the helmet like Kelly has it is the way to go for the wide angle in my opinion. And you should see it if it falls off.
