  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

A Class
I read here in the forums about P-3s carbon fiber protection items ,the quality is not as its conveyed here nor the service,

In july 2012 i ordered a p-3 skid plate and a pipe guard for my WR300. Six weeks later i have no product an no communication with P-3 but in the mean time i acquired an FMF pipe and i emailed Pirie to change my order from a stock pipe to an FMF .A few more weeks go by and while i never received any conformation from P-3 my order showed up correctly. The pipe guard fit fine but the skid plate wasn't even close.I then emailed Pirie and i received an immediate response that there was trouble with the WR300 skid plates and to return it ( at my expense ) for a refund. About a week or so after they received my return i see on their website another product i can use for another bike i have,so i emailed them to send that item and refund me the difference and they agreed .A couple of more weeks pass and no item or refund, again i emailed Pirie and they assure me it will will be handled immediately. A few more weeks pass again and of today no response to my last to emails and no parts or refund ! BTW don't bother calling no one answers the phone and messages get ignored! this has been going on since 7/21/12

I've seen the same comments and feedback on KTMTALK and GASGAS site. It really won't matter if you've got the best products in the world if you have no more customers.

I know that BMP stocks some P3 stuff, so Im wondering if P3 is focusing on dealer deliveries instead of direct sales.....
In which case he should say so on his website so folks can shop at a dealership.

There are several warnings in this forum about P3 slow service.

In fact, their own website says: “Due to the current overwhelming popularity of our products, most items will take up to 4 to 6 weeks to ship, and some items could be longer then 4-6 weeks.”

On Jan 25th I emailed P3 to ask about the Akrapovich pipe guard he makes for the 511.

No answer so far…

There is no doubt about the slow service....
on the other hand Im pretty sure that guard is one of the things I saw hanging on the wall at BMP http://billshusky.com
Bryon there should know if they still have one.

I totally agree. Bryon suddenly had some hanging on the wall and I told him that I wanted to get one, but needed to cancel my long over due order. So I emailed Eric to cancel and got no reply but found that he billed my credit card a day or two later and like I said that was over two months ago.
I don't want to sound like a whiner, but if I ran my business like that- well, you know...:censored:
What about dealer protection? HA!

the NJ Motor vehicle commission runs like that and theres always a line out the door!

Is there any other company selling carbon fiber skid plates and pipe guards? I did a quick internet search and all I could find was some 'E-Line' stuff on EBay. I thought E-line was out of business or maybe the quality wasn't that great...

get the hyde skid plate . i did and i love it !!!

Moose racing sells them check out there website. They are made by e-line. $139.00 top notch run company there parts get to me sometimes in 2 days.

It is really unfortunate that P-3 is so poorly managed. Their products are probably the best CF products available......well technically available. He has a pipe guard created and on his site for the 200 FMF Fatty. Really a nice piece just don't get in a hurry. As others have said probably the best way to get results is to order through Bill's/Bryon as they seem to get preferred status. I am sure there is more to the story behind the scenes but that doesn't excuse the lack of responsiveness. Tell people what the actual time frame is going to be and then stick to it(Believe me I know sh*t happens and you can't plan for it). Work by the golden rule of FIFO(first in first out). If you can't perform under those terms then sell through dealers only.

I was told the E-line and therefor the Moose stuff is all made by P3. Not sure if this is 100% correct but thought I would toss that out there.
