• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Just spooned on a new front Pirelli scorpion MXMH. Can't find any reviews on these as I think they are pretty new, which leads me to my question... Has any one tried these? I think these will be good for the NE mountains / woods where I ride and they are DOT to boot.

I went with my go to tire for the rear, which is the Michelin AC 10.

I've had great luck with these AC 10s and again they are DOT. I can't wait to run these in and give my new suspension a real workout!

It's a tire that won't allow a pinch flat, that's for sure. Took just as long to mount as the rear!

Actually that front tire looks very much like an AC-10 front. Have you tried that tire yet? Your rear AC-10 is a 120/90-18? I can't find a size larger than that.

I ran the XCMH. Hated it on the pavement and hard pack. Was good in the sand.
Wound up giving it away and went with the Scorpion Rally.
Hope you have good luck with yours!

What kinda psi. did you run? I like 10 or 14 max in my front.

I probably was running 16-18. Can't feel good lower than that with pavement and fast rocky off road thrown in. Rims already have some pretty good dingers and flat spots.
I don't trailer my bike, so I will ride quite a variety in a day. The tread pattern just felt like it was fighting itself on the harder surfaces.

The scorpion MXMH 454 worked great on everything form sand to rocks to dirt, but the suspension was what made it all come together. I think less would hunt for the perfect tire if the suspension was set right. Thanks Ccycle!
