• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

pics and age of left kicker riders?

I'm 29, been riding since I was 12 (not counting the 7 years prior that I was stuck with a JR50). Really wanted a Husky back around 2000 when I was on an XR (or maybe a KDX). But my first Husky wasn't until in May 2012 (WR 300). Second February 2013 (Strada). Third August 2013 ('92 360). Fourth March 2014 ('80 390). Always wanted an old air cooled open classer, now I just have to get it ride-able (I'll start a build thread for it eventually).

The moto 3 weighed a ton and I looked like "noddy" riding in the woops. ive still got the Sidi's! they are a bit worse for wear but I pull them out for "period dressing" when required..

Great pipe on that single shocker!

Justintendo did you start this thread because Ron and I were comparing "OLD" husky:oldman: riders on old husky's LOL great idea!! I will send in a pic with my bikes and myself when i dig them out of the back of the garage. It's been a long and coooold winter here in MI.and I have to get the snow blower and the snowmobiles out of the way And no my wife does not park her car in the garage:notworthy: LOL!!
Tom
lol, i was just curious how many guys are here because they lived through husky in their hey day, dominating off road. and how many of us, like me, just really liked the qualities of these older bikes..."the real husqvarnas"...always nice to match a face with a name as well!
i pictured surprize with a mohawk for some reason...:p

my wife knows its a long shot to ever be able to park in the garage

Mohawk?? I haven't had hair for 25 years!!

I like the fact that these bikes are being taken up by much younger guys who love them as much as we do.

here is a pic from the Harrow river crossing last year, google Harrow Vinduro and you will see a few huskies in action, its a two day vintage fest!5359820.jpg

yep, you would think they would be called the "U2" with some of the river epics I got away with! When you have the bike windsocking down stream with the flow and the water flowing around the tank onto the seat and it just keeps going till you get out the other side...just stunning but that's what they were designed for I guess.

nice, those twin shockers have to have one of the best airbox for that kinda stuff

yes those milk trucks are awesome in deep water i'v seen'em going up stream water less than 6inchs short of the gas cap no shit couldn't believe it scared the hell outa me the water was RIPPIN thought my little buddy with ZERO ridin experience was gona be a flood victim IT REALLY WASN'T KOOL AT ALL

Here's me on my 73 CR250. Raced my first motocross race at age 48. I've ridden motorcycles my whole life and compete in Vintage Trials. The reason I tried Motocross was I saw a couple guys at VMD in Ohio just sit back at the start and wait for everyone to get through turn one and then go. I thought .... "hey I could do that", and have enjoyed several motocross races and the ISDTRR in MA since. I'm not very good at it, but I'm having a blast! Unadilla.jpg

Did you ride that bike at the ISDTRR in Adams? I was there on one of Helmut Clasen's Sachs MCGS bikes.

Yes I did Kartwheel. Spent some $$ lighting it and getting it registered, as well as quieting it down. Had a ball. Unfortunately, the nut that holds the clutch adjuster came loose and dropped, sending the push rod through my case. Luckily the threads sealed it off and the fallen nut didn't do any damage. A big guy named Craig helped me fix it. I put some RTV in the hole and covered it with Gorilla tape. Never lost a drop of oil!! Unfortunately I was too late to the next check point and got a DNF. But I just kept going and finished both days of riding and the MX.
Bet you had fun with Helmuts Sachs. He's a super nice guy and a great rider. I see him at Ormstown every year. Do you go to Ormstown? WOW, That's a fun weekend!! That and Unadilla. Can't wait!!

Never been to Ormstown but I want to go. I will be at Unadilla this year.

See you there. Tore my ACL and had knee surgery in Dec. So I'll just be doing the Trials at Unadilla this year.
For anyone who hasn't been to Ormstown, here's the flyer. Vintage Trials, MX and CC all weekend, including a school with Mick Andrews.

Also, you can go to this site to see what it's all about. Tons of pictures from years past Ormstown events throughout the page.
