• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

well sorta new to me. picked this up from my friend...bike has all original plastic, stickers, really needs nothing to go out and ride. not a ton of use on this one, footpegs are very tight. he has installed new swinger bearings, chain, sprockets, and shock rebuild..of course in my usual style it will get full teardown and inspection!! 430 power!

Nice ride! Never been on a W/C 430 yet, just the A/C 430s.
Have a few 400s, does the 430 feel much faster over the 86 400?
Which has less vibration? Hope to pick 1 up some day, auto or what ever.

Nice bike....I guess it's spring fever------think I'm gonna keep my 1981 250wr. Hey justintendo did I tell you I'm originally from the BURG.....Graduated from Penn-Trafford in 77

great bike, my 430 vibrates some....but not to bad. Very crisp power everywhere. Cracked throttle = spinning rear wheel. It's like a point & shoot bike.

That bike looks very original & in real nice shape. The coils on that shock spring look closely spaced & maybe thicker than my 430. It could be due to the shorter shock. I'm not saying either one is better, it's just an observation. Diff spring rates etc.

thanks guys, the spring is a little stiffer as i installed one to suit my friend who weighs 240 or so...
bike is on original piston with 175 psi compression, the output leaks a tiny bit so it may get new crank seals, steel plates, and an out bearing with some new new gaskets..i had given him a spare aluminum intake manifold so thats taken care of.
would like to install a lectron and dynoport system this summer but we will see how it goes. perhaps an uptite pipe if george gets some remade.

good looking bike
i have 2 of these
look at the UpTite pipe for it you will not be disappointed, i have one on one of mine and love it
good call on the teardown i always do that to, if nothing else you will feel better, as in no surprises on trails

all i can say is its a good thing im poor white trailer trash my dads 6 caddy garage would not be big enuff:eek:

I had built the first real monster garage before they called them a monster garage. A 24' x 28' floor space with a 10' ceiling. I fabricated a 5' shelf 12' x 14' so I could stack the husqvarna bikes. I filled the rest of the garage with machine tools and parts.
Trust me we never have enough room. My new garage is in the plans right now a 24' wide by 48' long. Three doors plus room for a shop. I will need to adopt more husqvarna's.

Nice find. These can be found still in good condition. I think most riders don't ride them hard. There not 125cc's and don't need to beat them. There's a wide power band from the bottom to the top. They can do it all.
