• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Petcock: looking to replace screw type for one with reserve.

I have an 09 TXC 250 with the stock, no-reserve, screw type petcock. I'd like to find a standard lever style one with reserve. Does anyone know which ones are compatible?

Quick follow-up: Tasky's sent a husky petcock with reserve, but the the fuel tube is too wide for the hole in the tank. I could probably drill it out, but I was hoping for something a bit more plug-n-play.

The tank is plastic and super easy to drill out more, be sure your screws are the right match first.

Those screw types really are bad ... I'd like to swap mine out also ... Did you break out the drill on yours yet?

We have fitted the Acerbis one to our 2011 CR125 no need for drilling the tank, just bolts straight in Part no: 0003083 Fuel Tank Petcock (right side)

Just another followup: I did drill out the tank to fit the new petcock and it works great. I haven't hit reserve yet, so I've no clue what volume is contained in reserve, but it is over 1 gal (the most I've had to refill to date). The lever is so much easier to deal with than the screw.

i have one of each and agree the screw kinda sucks, especially when caked in mud. do you guys put a rubber sleeve or something over it to help that issue? little velcro cover maybe? it's on my list to try a few mods. hate screwing it back in after a ride when it's all crusty.

1979 RM400 petcock swaps with the husky petcock.

So does 80's-90's yamaha but the yami has a large OD on the oring and it doesnt look like it would seal on a stock tank but i think it would be fine on the IMS tanks that dont have a step around the petcock surface.
