• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Parts supply to Australia

G'day folks, I guess this question is more relevant to Aussie riders. Can anyone tell me if there is a sales agent for "Highway Dirt Bike" goods here in Aus ?
I just tried to order their hand guards/top clamp/mirror set, a total of $248.75. Then the only shipping option provided is via UPS, a whopping $304.98.
Be nice to find an alternative.

I once heard of a company in the US who will accept small shipments of bike parts from other companies in the US, consolidate into one large shipment, then forward to Australia. Don't know who they are though.

Regards,

Take care but take a risk

BLOODY HELL**************************************** thats alot for postage, sorry I cant help

Thanks Kelly and Coffee, that is in line with my expectation of between $30 to $50, since confirmed elsewhere. I've e-mailed HDB for alternative shipping arrangements, but no reply as yet. (its only a couple of days) Don't know what the $300+ was all about, maybe I screwed up the order and I was getting a whole new bike minus the hand guards, mirrors etc.

9/02/2011 Just wish to update the shipping costs. After discussing with Paul from Highway Dirt Bikes, the real cost for shipping those parts to Australia is $55.00. About right for the size/weight etc. Not sure why the original online quote was so high.

That sucks. I was looking at ordering the same, but was put off by postage costs.

Just got a secondhand set of Ducati Hypermotard handguards and mirrors instead.
