  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st Part it, or sell it?

I wanted to do a vintage project, but I just don't have the time. I have a little vintage Suzuki thing I've been working on, but it's not moving forward very fast.

I've said this before, but it's really just this whole KTM buy out thing. I've just lost my love of the Husky. I don't care for KTM. I don't like the direction they are going or that they dropped Husaberg just to buy a different name for their "other" bike. And I don't like the attitude they have toward the "spaghetti" bikes.

I was really proud of this bike, but I've just become disillusioned with the whole Husky thing and want out.

Spaghetti! you mean Pasta bikes... I bought one, and I am building it extra slow and slapping a big Cagiva Elephant sticker on her. Hasn't even been fired up yet.

OK guys, I just got off the phone with "Flyingbob" and it looks like he has bought himself another Husky. It's a virtual handshake right now, but I'm pretty sure he's good for it.

All you guys that pm'd me about it, I'm sorry. I know this guy ( I do suspension work for him ) so he had the upper hand.

Sorry Motorhead but if you are buying a Yamaha it kind of does make you a "schemer", it is kind of obvious. I am just kidding btw.

Well, it did turn out that I sold the bike via this thread. If that and buying a Yamaha make it an "elaborate scheme", then I'm guilty.

Mission accomplished. I sold my bike. :p

What********************************************************************************!!

No more Husky****************************************!!!

Guess you will have to start posting threads under Coffee's Yamaha section.

Several months late on the report, but I have to tell everyone that the bike I got from Motorhead is absolutely fantastic! He wasn't kidding when he said he had a garage full of parts either. A good friend of mine bought a 2014 Huskatoom 250 two-smoker and after I rode it I thought I might have to eat my pride and (no I didn't), then I finally closed the deal with Keith and his bike is like icing on a cake! Sweet, sweet, sweet!!! I put a Lectron on it and there's no looking back! I had to take the Scalvini pipe off of it though, it's too nice to dent! No problem, got a nice ProCircuit pipe and silencer in one of the many boxes! He can dial in a suspension, too. I needed a stiffer rear spring, but that was it. Perfection.

Thats awesome. Crazy he sold his bike without even making a for sale ad lol, so awesome for all involved.

Hows the yamaha life?
