  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc P3 Pipe Guard for WB 165?

Hey guys,

Anyone know where I can find a P3 carbon fiber pipe guard for a WB 165 pipe? Both Bill's and Hall's are out of stock and are saying P3 does not have a delivery date for the next batch.

I would really love to find one, even used, as I will trash my beautiful custom 200 SX Fatty pipe that comes with Walt's kit in no time.

Thanks!

Eddie

Yes I guess, but I'm not sure if a pipe guard for a standard/stock KTM 200SX Fatty pipe will fit the WB165 modded 200SX Fatty pipe. I think it will, but not positive.

I just sent Walt a PM asking him, will post what I learn.

The 200 SX fatty is a very different pipe than the standard 200 xcw fatty. If you can get a pipe guard for the 03-04 200 SX fatty it will fit.
There may have been at one time, but there is no 200 XC-W Fatty pipe in the FMF product line. My P3 165 pipe guard has 200 SX molded into it.

Long story, but I love history.... Lindsay and Eric Pirie (P3) made all the carbon parts for Kevin Hines and E-Line back 15 plus years ago. 10 years ago Parts Unlimited brought E-Line into their catalog and forced Kevin to go offshore for production. They wanted a bigger margin on the product plain and simple, quality was second. P3 sent all the molds to E-Line and started from scratch with their own P3 product line.

Is the mold for the WB165 pipe an old E-Line one maybe? 200 SX was a 2 year model and not a lot of bikes, so maybe P3 kept it. Walt would know. Not going to be a lot of these out there used.
