• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Ordered genuine parts at Halls Cycles - 6 to 8 weeks wait. Normal??

Ordered some gear online from Hall's, their system doesn't show non-stocked items so I thought they were in stock =(
Very happy with their pricing, better than here in Australia. so I will wait.

Is 6 to 8 weeks typical for back ordered stuff at the moment with the Austrian change over????

Fair enough.....

Just used to Jap delivery times I guess. Even though our Aussie parts come through the states for them, it only takes 3 to 4 weeks.

Oh well, back to watching the mailbox......

So to clarify, are you talking about gear or maintenance parts? I ask because it seems that parts are plentiful but accessories or hard parts are scarce and don't appear to be being produced any longer.

While I think it would be beneficial for KTM to make parts plentiful for red bike owners part of me still thinks the kill a cub thing was the purpose of spa mission. Please let me be wrong and also note I know they had little time for tooling so not complaining and having great hope for what may be to come!!!

Keep in mind that KTM now runs the parts for Husqvarnas and their policies for exports to AUS for parts. I feel that it is only a matter of time before they send the cease and desist letters out to USA dealers. Might be a good time to stock up?

Sounds like if that happened, there would be a huge lawsuit to follow shortly after. As well as a dip in future sales. I can't think of a reason to buy a product from someone who would arbitrarily throw current customers under a bus.

As we are a small market here in Aus, just about everyone's OEM parts come via the states.
That means it is shipped & marked up twice before landing at the importer here with a massive price difference.
I've become pretty good at trolling around getting parts from o/seas as a result.

The downside is that this doesn't support the dealers here, they struggle & close. Then that vital part you need before your weekend ride isn't available nearby.
I try to buy local & support them, but I buy big ticket items & things I can wait for, like the plastics/engine parts from o/seas.
I am a part of our own problem in that regard.....

Took me just over 2.5 months to get the Carbon Fiber rear heat shield. It just arrived (ordered on 3/2).

No problem yet, after a decade of Husky bikes, for me getting the parts I need from the states for the bikes listed in my avatar ... But you know, my bikes never really need parts ... I try to buy slightly in advance...

Was kind of weird some of my last parts had ktm written all over them...

I do believe the 010 and 012 TC250s use the same piston rings :)

I should add the Philippines gets beat up alot on their mail service. I've ordered maybe ~30 times from the states and never, never failed to get my orders over the last ~4 yrs ... Some people continue to live in the past I think or have had bad luck ... Again, I'm not that person.

Here's how my previous parts were marked ...

Just the usual wait of ~10-14 working days or so of shipping to get this set of rings also ... Now I ask you, ain't life grand when you own and ride a Husky?

So I'll say, no, it is not normal for me to wait on parts other than shipping time. Just my life with my Huskies and my luck I guess ...

Good luck with your bikes :)

EDIT:

Here's the ring set I purchased for the 010 bikes, pretty close after the ktm buyout... No ktm marking .... No extended wait time either for these .. Same part number as the ring set from above with all the ktm marking ...

I understand you guys are having some issues ... But not true for all of us today.

Glad I read this thread ... I had lost contact with all my parts until I just went and found them all dusty and hidden away :) ... I've got them all marked now and am sure my Husky will need this stuff some day ... After I did replace the piston and rings on my 08 TXC250 after ~950 hrs, I did notice the bike felt stronger after the parts were replaced ... So I said at the time, I'd put a ~300hr limit on my piston and ring on these TC bikes ...

I think with some parts, there will be a wait. The CF heat shield was a special part, so I wasn't surprised it was backordered. I've been able to get other parts considerably faster. YMMV.

Is that the meo one for the 310?

Yes, I installed the Meo replica exhaust and needed a rear shield for it. Also upgraded the ECU and injector (12 hole). Need to reset TPS apparently, though.
